Well, there's some new news out of Apple and it's all good for fans of the iPod. Apple has completely revamped every corner of their iPod lineup. Here is a brief summary of all the changes...

    iPod Shuffle

Though not shipping until October, the iPod Shuffle has undergone a dramatic change. The design of the Shuffle is now in the form of a 'clip'. The size has been dramatically altered, as now the Shuffle is only a tiny 1.62 inches long. As Apple claims, you can now clip it wherever you want, but at least we all have a use for that tiny pocket inside the pocket of our jeans. The Shuffle is only available now in a 1 GB model, the 512 MB model has been discontinued. All this and the new price is $79!

    iPod Nano

Out of all the different iPods, the Nano has undergone the most change. First, the models now come in 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB variations. But the most noticeable difference is the change in color. Remember the iPod Mini? Well, the iPod Nano has adopted the color variations of the Mini and slapped a new pricetag on all of their models. The 2 GB model is exclusively silver, and the 8 GB model is exclusively black, but the 4 GB model comes in your choice of pink, lime green, light blue, or silver. The profile of the Nano has been slimmed as well, it is now nearly half the depth of the previous generation. As for prices, the 2 GB goes for $149, the 4 GB goes for $199, and the 8 GB goes for $249

    iPod

As expected, the iPod Video has gone gaming. Now for only $4.99 you can buy games like Tetris, Zuma, or Bejeweled from iTunes and play them on your iPod. Also, Apple has upped the ante and created an 80 GB model to replace the previous 60 GB model. The 30 GB model stays in place, and the price for it has been dropped to $249. The 80 GB sells for $349. The size of this iPod is the same, so it is still technically in it's '5th Generation'.

As you can see, I'm excited about the changes to the iPod lineup, and hopefully you will be too after checking out the pictures of them. I know there's a 30 GB iPod in my future, at least in the next month or so.

Why would they do that instead of releasing new modles? Weird.

Well I like how the shuffle look like, very creative. But I don't think I'll be needing another iPod for a while.

I think its a bit pointless to up the prices for a colour change in the nano. Hell, you might as well go paint it.

And for the shuffle, so cute! But its gonna be hard keeping that thing out of harm. If its a clip, its gonna be hard to make a cover for it.

O.M.G/ Sooner or later, they'll get to be the size of a bean, just like the ipod flea spoof, They're the size of tictacs. But I heard about the gaming thing a month or two ago. They asked this guy if he'd make games for them, but he refused, and then the info got leaked. I like the new designs though, I might even buy a 2GB Nano.

My primary choice for buying an iPod would be to get a black 30 GB with a DC case. And now that the price is down, I only have to work for two more weeks to afford it!

The games feature looks fantastic, all the more reason for me to get myself an MP3. And the shuffle... o_o ...so tiny. They'll probably be able to fit it inside the earphones eventually.

I got a Silver 2 GB Nano, and a nice DC case to protect it. The rounded edges are very attractive, and I wasn't a fan of the metallic rear end of the old iPods so this is perfect for me.

On another note. The tiny shuffle might be really easy to lose. @_@''

They should add a camera on it or soemthing.

That would be really cool if they had a camera. It would also be simple as well, you upload the stuff, and take pics, and load them back onto the comp. I guess they would be of mobile phone pic quality, but it would be still cool

The only places left to go is camera and maybe even phone capabilities. But other than that, they've covered all forms of multimedia now.
