Well Xiros and myself made this little comic which we plan to do roughly every one or two weeks. When the site is online it can become a regular feature. I'm mainly doing it so we have a little more content for the website since we need features that will hopefully have people coming back to visit again. Xiros is using this for his coursework or something, I don't know the details.

As the comic continues we may build up on the characters but right now we're just going to create strips about events that we've experiences on Xbox Live along with a few parodies and such. This first page is all about one of the regular things we do on G.R.A.W. Feel free to leave some feedback so me and Xiros know what to work on for future pages.

I only write the scripts really, so lucky for me it doesn't take long. My only problem is when I sit there for twenty minutes asking myself how to start it all out. My friend Xiros may have the longer task in the comic, but I like the fact he only has to draw and not actually come up with anything.

So, does anyone have any good ideas for future strips? I need some inspiration since I can't think of anything worth mentioning that's happened in gaming lately. Drop me some ideas and I'll try and blend them together to come up with something.

You could do one about Halo3, or mabey one of the levels in Halo2's campaign. That's all I've got really. The comic itself is good, but I don't really like the style of the drawing.

Well to be honest the art isn't my department. Like I said I only do the scripts, but I'll tell the artist what you think. I was considering a Halo comic but to be honest the game is old now, I want to keep the comic connected to recent releases. I plan to make a Gears of War comic when I get a chance to play the game, same goes for Double Agent and Call of Duty 3.

Already got the next script planned out, and my friend's drawing it up. He showed me a rough copy at college and I've had him change a few things. This strip is actually a piss-take of the Xbox, because unlike you I am not fanboy for anything. Except maybe Z.O.E.

I myself whore do not whore it up to a single company or anything, though I prefer the Xbox to PS2/GC.

I find myself playing my 360 more than my other consoles, but that's simply because I run a clan on Xbox Live and so far the 360 is the only console with a decent online service. I wouldn't trade my other consoles for the world, though. Also once the other next-gen consoles have their online service running I will open up divisions for the Wii and PS3 in my clan which will hopefully make our community/clan a lot larger, and also bring a variety of discussions about all consoles and games into the forum.

Yeah, about the art style, it isn't very unique. In fact it's quite forgetable.

I know what you mean, but it's out of my hands.

I can't draw, so I have to rely on other people for the art. Not many people will just say "Yeah, I'll draw comics for you!" and dedicate the time needed. But keep in mind this comic is for the artist to improve his artwork and for me to improve my writing, so you'll definitely be seeing small improvements in each comic hopefully.

Then a suggestion: make the lines thinner, make everything less blurry, and maybe use a different speech bubble font.

Will do, was considering going for Comic Sans since that goes well with comics.

For an actual comic, I think it would go best in a small font, but with all capitals.

Yes, all capitals are a must. I may try Comic Sans that way, then.

Xiros is messing around with drawings in preparation for the next comic, he's currently working on a short flash animation in celebration of EDGE UK's upcoming second birthday. ;)

The drawing style definately looks better, except Link, who looks a bit strange.

Yeah, Link's face is pretty funky...But Snake looks awesome. For the comic, I would say work on the shading a little more on top of what Split suggested.

Yeah, I thought Snake looked pretty cool myself. Don't expect him to draw sixty times better in a matter of weeks/months though. His drawing does show improvement but there's still a long way to go naturally, but hey the EUK comic is not only me and Xiros' way of having some fun but also our lab rat for improving and experimenting with.

I've finally decided on a decent enough story for the second page. It's going to be dedicated to Gears of War this time, although I was hoping to make a crack at the Wii straps to be perfectly honest I couldn't think of a script about it that wasn't already done to death. I personally think my Gears of War story is quite original as I haven't seen it done in any of the other comics and still quite amusing I hope.

That would be a decent comic in itself, really. Many webcomics use single cells to get their message across quickly. Another suggestion for Xiros: avoid using fine details among thick lines, it just doesn't look right. I'm talking about the Wimote speaker. I know it's small, but it could be noticeable in future comics.

Oh, and the poster of Link is a nice touch.

XDD! It's probably because handcuffs are so secure, and since the straps kept snapping.... It's still a good comic though, but agree with split. For the speaker, you could've gone with six larger dots, but not too large. It probably would've blended better.
