GSS's host is upgrading its servers, which means we will be migrated to a new server. I had originally been told that our server would be moved on November 27th (in a few hours), but I haven't heard confirmation yet. I'm waiting on a response from their support department to get a better time frame, at which point I will post an update to this message.
Right before and then during the migration time, I will be disabling the forums so that no posts (or as few as possible) are lost during the move. I wanted to give everyone a heads-up warning so nobody worries when they can't access the site or it is offline. Depending on when the next version of the forum software is released this week, I may keep the forums down for another hour or two while I perform the upgrade and do some routine maintenance.
With the new server hardware, I'm hoping site performance should improve a bit. Things have been slow the past few months, and I've been promised that we'll be seeing an improvement. So I ask that you all just be patient and understanding with regards to any downtime we experience this week.

I don't think anyone will be bothered by a few hours of downtime. Maybe we can try and do something... else during that time. Maybe we should... go outside for a few hours.
Good to hear things will be a little quicker. That can never be a bad thing.

*peers outside in fear*

LOL! Yep, bomb dropping! Take cover! KABOOM!
Jhonny?....Johnny?....JOHNNY!
Anyway I doubt it will bother me so much that this place goes down for a few or more hours or so. Don't worry about me, I have plenty of other things to do in the meantime.

Just an update: The server got held up in transportation to the data center, so they are running a bit behind schedule. They have said they will notify me once our move has been rescheduled.

I haven't noticed any slowdown at all. Ah well, keep up the great work.
Yeah, that's right. I said great. It's nice to be original sometimes.
