Okay, so it's cute as heck. But c'mon! The Sims has always had "adult" themes, from sexual relationships to somewhat violent relationships, and of course, your Sims can die in terrible ways. It's all part of The Sims! Frankly, I'd be scarred for life watching two of these chibi Sims making out or sleeping together.

On the other hand, it's cute as heck.

Hopefully the PS3 version will be more what I'm looking for.

Yeah, "cutesy" look is a little weird. And strange. I doubt I'll be buying this.

Very unexpected. I'm not too interested though, as it's been years since I last played the Sims.
        I've only got two questions:
1.) Where are the green diamonds on the heads?
2.) What the heck is the guy doing to the girl in the bottom left hand corner of the third screenshot?

It looks like a bootleg version of animal crossing. It doesnt deserve "the sims" tittle, but i'll wait and see how good it is before I judge on a couple of screenshots.

Animal Crossing is what came to my mind first when I tried to compare it to something else graphically. Why change it to this?

              I agree with Me111.
It reminds me of Animal Crossing entirely. Trampling flowers and going into scary shops.. =\

Most have been reminded of Animal Crossing so far. I'm sure it'd be fun to play online (as they plan to) but still.

                Oh, and official site:

                http://boku-sim.jp/

                That is SO asian.

Uh... no offense to the asians/otakus here.

As long as you don't have to pay money to a racoon then I guess there are some differences.

I actually think this game looks quite interesting, although I would rather just play Animal Crossing Wi. Maybe they've changed the graphics so that more non-gamers would buy the game, but whatever the reason I bet you'll be able to use your Mii as your Sim. I'll keep my eye out for this.

I still can't figure out why they just didn't make a normal Sims 2 version of this game, and had to make them...odd. Obviously, this game doesn't seem like it will have the same features, objects, etc as a normal sims game, so i'd like to see what they can come up with.

I guess it's made for the Mii character. I just hope they won't change games graphically to suit the Mii character. I'd much rather prefer the graphics of the Sims 2 for this game rather than the cartoonish sort on offer.
However it worked for Wind Waker so who knows?

Did it really work for Wind Waker? I mean, yeah it was ok, but I would have rather played a Twilight Princess style game.
I believe the main reason for this style of graphics for The Sims Wii is because of Miis, as Me111 already said.

The cartoon style worked for Wind Waker because Zelda has mostly been about a kid with a sword fighting evil.

I don't think it'll work for Sims because Sims has had you mostly controlling adult characters. You can control kids or teens, but most of the fun of Sims is where you control adults. (because adults have more control of their life, that's a fact)

I agree with that. You've played one, you've pretty much played them all. That's what I realised and why I stopped playing them altogether.

You can kinda call me a sims fanboy. I really only play the Sims 2 on the pc though. I just think this is a little extreme in making a version of the sims for what looks like a kid oriented audience. I just don't think this game will work.

@ Me111 and the other guy-who-said-all-Sims-games-were-the-same (can't bother to check)

The Sims really didn't need change. I haven't played Sims 1 but I know that Sims 2 actually added in TONS of stuff to the gameplay... without really changing the gameplay. Which was good. Haven't you ever noticed that lots of games sequels SUCK because they changed the game too much?

Well, if you were just getting tired of the same game I could understand.

I know new stuff was added and I guess there was some difference for the Sims 2. I guess there would be some difference, but the games still feel too similar.

I can see your point on how they can seem the same, but they are very different in other areas, like camera angles added into the sims 2, and so on.

I didn't like sims 1. So I never gave sims 2 a chance. It seemed so the same. But they could have made it... more realistic. Not like some virtual doll house for girls.

And some games that stayed the same went out of fashion. Tomb Raider for example. Though they made a come back with legends.

I've never played a Sims game, because they look un-interesting, but I want this one...I guess it brings back good memories of Animal Crossing (my favorite GC game).

There is still so much they could do with the sims games (They just dont realize it), this game not being one of them. Although I personally don't like it, this game may sell well with a children, if you think about it. Since it's like Animal Crossing, but with more customization of characters, houses, etc.
