Ad Bots, Spam Bots, as far as I can see, they post topics in our Common Room board. If they were just links to harmless places, it wouldn't bother me. But many of the topics created seem to link to porno sites, and that's just sick. <_<

Am I missing something here, or is there no way to stop them from coming? I'm sure there's been some forum mod developed to block them out off of IPBs.

I was wondering about that too. There has to be someway for them to be blocked from making usernames. They are starting to run rampant and its getting pretty annoying.

They normally ask you to type letters from a graphical text bod that you have to be a human to read when making an account. apparently they've found some way around this.

Well recently at another forum I'm at, we had hundereds of bots coming through every day, the admin decided to change from phpbb or whatever it is to SMF (simple machines forum), it took like to weeks, and we've had it for like 2 months now and not a single bot has come through.

Let's put in a basic questionnaire, with randomly generated questions.

Not general knowledge. Just something really obvious.

Yeah, but can you do that with an Invision Free board? They are really irritating, though.

You'd only have to do it once, ever.
