Kotaku was informed about HOME by a 3rd party.
Kotaku informed Sony they'd post the details.
Sony said, please don't or else we wouldn't give you the privileges we use to give you.
Kotaku still posted it.
Sony gave them exactly what they said.
Kotaku made the private matter a public matter and all the Sony bashers came running in.
Sony, already having so much negativity towards them, gave them back the privileges. Some say Kotaku did it purposely, cuz they practically love giving Sony negative press there.
... And people still complain 'Oh, Sony you suck!'... Kotaku sucks.

Journalism is about reporting accurate news to the people as quickly as possible. Now, that still doesn't mean you shouldn't use common courtesy. If a certain article could ruin a good person's life, that journalist, regardless of their feelings about reporting news, should use some common sense and not report it. In this case, reporting about the HOME technology thingy wouldn't really hurt Sony. At least not so much that they couldnt easilly recover. I'm sure they were probably planning some huge unveiling, but that's life. There's hardships, there'll be people out to get you, etc. Just deal with it and move on.
Personally, Kotaku shouldn't have been punished at all, or even told not to post it in the first place.
And all that spoken in an unbiased manner. Personally, if I could afford a PS3, there's pretty darn good chanced I'd get one.

And to be fair Eugine, Kotaku was excited about the LittleBigPlanet game.
Yeah... either way I think SONY's PR was kinda exaggerating.

Its like a pretty version of Second Life so far, except without the fur ***s. You have to pay to get new stuff for your character, which is stupid. Its interesting though, its not your normal online chat community. Being on Gaia and trying IMVU, its a different feeling all around. People's first question is where your from usually, but then it turns straight to video games for the most part.

There needs to be a lot more done to it before I'll say "I would rather be on Home then play this game"
