We got ourselves another Red Steel esque' game on our hands here. Well, sort of. In this game you play as the character Travis Touchdown (really creative name there huh?), "a normal guy (with an otaku geek streak to him)" who wins a lightsaber like katana at an auction (called a beam katana). Once he's got the sword in his posession, he decides it'd be great stuff to become a professional killer (how cute). A while later, a guy named Helter Skelter (these names are getting too childish) appears from nowhere and challenges Travis to a duel. Of course, Travis kicks his ass. Shortly there after, a chick named Silvia Christel, "a mysterious French woman who claims to be an agent with the UAA (not quite sure what that is yet)," appears before Travis and gives him the official rank of 11 in the organization (the UAA apparently). So you go around on your kickass bike taking on missions and gaining cash (which is used for various things, including buying new weapons) until you work your way up to the top ten killing contracts. So you get to swing around your uber sword with the Wiimote. Hopefully this time, the controls are more of what people hoped swinging Links sword would've been like (i.e. you swing your sword a certain way, your characters follows the exact movement etc.). There's also some finishing moves you can use, kind of like in TP where Link jabs his sword into his opponent. There's screens and the article from which I derived all this from in this very short IGN article. http://wii.ign.com/o...827/827358.html

Personally, it looks like a great game to me. You get to roam around the city (so it's not like Soul Calibur 2 where you just fight), and you've got a motorcycle to cruise it on. That, and who can say no to swinging a sword around your head like a maniac? :P

Sounds intressting atleast. I'm not really sure what to think of it... When IGN gets more information and reviews I might get a better view of it.

... Is this supposed to be a good game? Who's making it, anyway(I can't bother to check IGN)?

I really hate it though when people combine swords and stuff with futuristic or modern things. Like Star Wars. Now that guns exist I would never use a sword if I were a murderer/rescuer of the universe/game character.

Suda 51 is the company makeing the game. And depending on the storyline, and the way the swords are used, why would there be a problem? In starwars, lightsabers can block laser guns. That, and Jedi are fast enough to be effective with a saber.

The actual developer is Grasshopper, right? Suda 51 is just the head honcho.

Anyway, this looks interesting, but I doubt I will ever play it...

Aquamarine, it sounds like you just dislike modern/futuristic games...

I like the look of it, but I lol'd at the names of the people, the amount of blood that poured when the guy sliced a person in half, and at the concept art of those 3 chicks (the one at the left is classic, who would wear that?! :P). But really, I love the art style this game has.

No, I don't dislike modern/futuristic games, really! I love Metroid, F-Zero, Quake, Battlefield... But just think about it a bit. Today, do armies use guns and swords in wars? No, they use only guns, and for a reason. A sword doesn't stand a chance against a gun. Yeah yeah, talk all you want about that Japanese fighting style with the katana that was made to counter firearms, it was still no good against rifles. So why would somebody suddenly start using swords and other such weapons again in the present/future?

It looks a bit weird from what I've seen, but might be fun though.

That's how kick-ass the main character is.

This game looks like something I might spend my cash on when it comes out, but I still would like to see reviews first. The graphics could use some improvement though. They look a little choppy.

After checking the trailers, I'm really thinking I'm gonna like this game. Some of the events are just so... RANDOM! XD Anyways, I'll probarly read some reviews first but this already gave me a good first impression.

One of the few games announced so far that actually makes me appreciate the Nintendo Wii. Based on the developer's previous reputation and the interesting style of the game I'm crossing my fingers so that this turns out to be one of the few platform exclusive games that isn't developed by a first party.

Killer 7 style, am I right? This does look pretty cool, though I doubt I will end up buying it.

Yes, same folks who developed Killer 7.
