Will there be a Fire Emblem for the DS anytime soon?

Not that I know of, but I sure hope there'll be. Sure, FE is great on the GC/Wii, but I'd still really like to see what they could do with a touch screen.

The three developers provided a few additional insights into the development of Goddess of Dawn. On the decision to bring the series to the Wii instead of the phenomenally successful DS, Yamagami stated, "The FE series began on the Famicom, so we'd generally like to release it on consoles. Also, it's a game with many detailed parameters, so we want to put it on a television. However, we do feel that the SRPG genre is suited for the DS."

So they were thinking about it for FE10, but decided on the Wii.
I'd love to see FE on the DS too, but since GoD was just released in Japan two months ago (and the North American/European, etc. releases haven't occurred yet), I think it'll be sometime until the next title is even announced.

Who knows. Mabey they'll release a "sequel" type of FE: 10 on the DS. Kinda like they did for FFXII. It'd just add on to the story. But I think it's fairly clear that FE will continue on as a console game. They've already made the switch, so if they do plan on going back to handhelds with it, you can expect a long wait.

Although I'm very glad they're making FE10 for Wii I think an FE would be perfect for the DS. Using the touch screen to move your units around would be great, and having the second screen with info about the chapter you're playing and about one of your characters when you put the cursor over him/her would also be good.

If you ask me an FE is bound to be released for DS some day. Unless the bad sales of Goddess of Dawn continue outside of Japan...

FE for DS would be cool. as long as nintendo does not give it a bad title like, Fire Emblem DS, or something corny involving the letters ds, like so many of the first batch, and some of the new batch, of DS games had.

but i can see FE on DS, who knows, it may have unlockable content by connecting it to the other games.

I definietly think it's a possibility. It worked so well on GBA, I don't think they can ignore it on DS.

and if it is one DS, there might even be some voice acting to go with it. unlike for the GBA, which could not support vocals that much. i think it would make it better, especially if it his cinamatics. give me movies in my game, just not enough to make it boring.

and you know what else might be cool, a Fire Emblem movie. they could likely get some of the actors from the game, as few cinematic scenes that there are, to do the voice acting. because i would envison it as a CG like FFVII Advent Children.

I believe (could someone tell me if this is true or not) that there was a Fire Emblem anime in Japan. I guess a movie isn't impossible, but it would probably stay in Japan, though Fire Emblem's support is growing over here as well.

Yeah that's what I mean. Seeing scenes like that in a full film would be cool, though it would take forever to animate.
Getting back on topic, if there was a FE DS, do you think the top screen would show the battles between two units and the bottom would show the map?

i think so. and if (or maybe i sould say when) it comes out, i ams so getting a DS if i dont have one at that time. same goes for when FE comes out for wii, then i'll get the system.

As far as I know, Goddess of Dawn doesn't have a release date in either America or Europe yet.
If there was ever a DS of FE, it would definietly be worth getting the system for. Luckily I already have it!

I think there is. Someone created a topic a long while ago where you were supposed to guess the show by the picture posted. MD posted a picture, and I distinctly remembered the sword from somewhere. I think it was marth's Dolphin Blade in SSBM, but the character from the show was holding it. I'm still not quite sure about it though. I'll have to search for it or something.

Only two episodes were released, and although the main character was Marth he was called Mars in the anime. The person that voiced him in the show also voices him in Smash Bros. Melee.

I tried to find the site where I saw that info, but I can't seem to find it. Can't remember what it's called either. All I know is that it sold a few thousand copies and then disappeared from the top ten best sellers only after a few weeks of its launch. Someone then commented on that site that it's selling quite poorly. Maybe that's not true though. I'll try and find the page again...

To be honest it's rare that I can really be interested in a game that's from before the N64-PS1 era. I know that may sound unfair as some quality games were released then, but I'm just not that desperate for them.

Actually, it has been stated that IS has been experimenting with ideas to incorporate FE into a DS, with possibly WiFi capability for trading characters/maps and downloading content.

According to RPGamer, it is slated for a 2008 release in Japan, but nothing has been said about a US release yet.

You do realise that when a company runs out of ideas, they will just remake an old game, hoping to make it better. Off the top of my head, most of the FF titles, new Super Mario Bros, Metroid Zero Missin ( Despite being awesome).

They've got a good reason to remake it though. When FE 3 was originally released, no one outside of Japan would have known the name. Now it's popular so a remake would be a good idea.

Very few people outside of Japan have played it. That's why I feel it's a smart move. It's like when they put all the early Final Fantasy games on GBA.

C'mon people this game WILL get an international release! We got Fire Emblem 7, 8 , 9 and we're getting 10 aswell... ;); I think the whole reason of the port is because of sucess in the Western continents and interest in Marth since SSB: Melee. I'm really looking out for this game!
