x3
Anyhoo, I've only been doing little edits for my myspace and stuff, but then today I decided to start using photoshop to make sigs and icons.
So, here's my first ever sig with photoshop. Be nice, please. Remember, I'm n00bish at photoshop & everyone refuses to help me learn how to use it [they're too "busy"].
So yah. Here ya go x]

BE NICE, FIRST EVER SIG, and NOBODY WANTS TO HELP ME.
Here's my justifications for my signature
1. Nobody cares to help me cause they're all too busy to even give me a minute of their time to explain what a LAYER is for.
2. I don't have a photoshop class to even fall back on for information.
3. I'm a visual learner, so books do not help and neither do online tutorials
4. THATS ALL I KNOW HOW TO FRIKKIN DO
5. I don't even know what an effect in photoshop is.
Besides, the colors are NOT wrong because it's a macabre picture with a dark theme.
>=( Hmpf.
Yeah, constructive criticism is good, but when you say "EW" at my VERY first signature, how am I supposed to feel?

You should grind your photoshop skill by mass-purchasing mats from the auction house.

And to help you with layers and effects....
Layers: You can put different pictures on different "layers," and then blend them together or add effects to the pictures seperately. This way you can make much more dynamic pictures.
Effects: Effects are basically special filters that change the look of your picture in some way. One such effect is motion blur (not sure if this is in PS, though I think it is). What it does, is blur your picture in a direction of your choosing in such a way that it looks like the item in the picture was moving at the time. It's kinda like takeing a picture of a moving car. But there are many other, and better, effects to choose from.
Layers Tutorial: Note: This was done in Photo Studio 5, not Photoshop, but it should still apply.
Picture 1
Picture 2
Picture 3
Picture 4
In this first picture, I have taken a plain white image, added a black backround, and erased some of the white image to write "HI!".
In the second picture, I then reduced the eraser's effectiveness, and went over the pictures edges a few times to give it a border. I also erased the black backround with an effectiveness of 40%. By reducing the eraser's effectiveness, it takes more than one pass to fully erase the image, and by doing that you can blend one picture into another by erasing the top picture to reveal the bottom one.
In the third picture, I've added yet another layer, filled it with a blue color, and put it behind the black layer. By erasing some of the black layer, a slightly faded, darker shade of blue shines through the black layer, and the erased parts of the white layer to give it a blue tinge.
In the fourth picture, I've added yet another layer, painted it red, and then truned off the blue layer to allow the red layer to appear.
I know you said that tutorials don't help you much, but hopefully this one gave you an idea on how layers work. ;)
Effects Tutorial: Note: Again, done in Photo Studio 5
Picture 1
Picture 2
Picture 3
In the first picture, I've opened up the effects menu. As you can see, there are many different sub-categories, but I'll work with a simple on called "old photo".
In picture two, you can see the menu for the "old photo" effect. I've selected the "border" and "spots" checkboxes. These will add a faded border, and faded spots respectively. I didn't select the bluring function because I prefer crisper pictures. The effect, no matter what boxes you check in it's menu, will tint the picture to a goldish brown color.
By doing all of these things to a picture, you can make it look like it was taken in the 1800's (I think that's when they looked like this). Picture 3 shows the final result.
I don't know if photoshop has this effect, but most effects will have a menu where you can fine tune the effect to what you want, and it will usually show a preview of the picture like I pointed to in picture 2.

Your improving. o.o Rawr. The blood at the mouth seems a bit out of place, but overall it looks good.

btw do you know of about Grouping layers?
Grouping layers enable you to draw on the spots where you drew on for the previous layer.
To enable that press Ctrl + G. An arrow should appear on that layer pointing downward to the previous layer. =D
Hope that was helpful.

For instance, in a Brawl themed sig I made once, I used layers to make a fading effect from blue, to white, to red, and then put that behind the picture and erased the parts of the picture where I wanted the fading to shine through.
I made a lot of mistakes with the angle of the shading, and the layers made it easy to erase just that part of the picture and not have to start all over.
As for the pictures, they look very zombieish. Real blood is darker though.
Overall, if you ran up to some random person on the street, shoved this picture in his face, and yelled at the top of your lungs, they'd have a garunteed heart attack. :P

But personally, I think you need a 1 pix black border with a little more interesting design behind your letters. It looks kinda plain, but I <3 that character! >3<
