This is like the What are you listening to? topic. Post what you've been playing/just played/are about to play/thinking about playing. So I guess you can say this is the generic gaming topic.

The only games i've played recently are Fable, Gears of War, and Amored Core 4 for the XBOX 360.
PC wise, i've only been playing Warcraft 3, and playing with the Editor it came with(still havent figured it all out). I've also been trying to finish Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages(dont laugh, its a tough game) Other than that, i havent really been playing the consoles as much as i used to.(my parents really got tight on the buying new games thing)

Dark, the WC3 toolset is a bit of a nightmare to understand at first. If you want to make some games, might I suggest the toolsets in the Neverwinter Nights games? They're pretty decent and easier to use than most, yet just as powerful (if not more) than others.

I pretty much stick to DS games nowadays since there aren't any more new GC games comming out, ever, and my PC is.....it sucks. Earlier today, as MD can attest to, it was running about as fast as 2 Ton man in an Icecream parlor. Seems to be doing fine now though.

I haven't touched my DS in about a week or two, but I usually play Pokemon Diamond and Magical Starsign. Thinking about getting Starfox Command so I can fight MD online in it.

I really want a 360 and a PS3 though, mainly for all of the incredibly freaking awesome games that are out/comming out for them. I wan't a Wii too, but the Wii has about 3 to 5 freaking awesome games that I want for it, versus the 360's or PS3's....well, more. Not quite sure how many, just that they have more for me than the Wii.

Yes, I know, laugh all you want. But it's fun, quirky, challenging, and most of all, the Wii motion controls with the remote actually work and make sense.

The most recent "full game" I've completed was, of course, Twilight Princess (about a month or so ago).

At the moment I'm only playing a bit from time to time. The games I'm playing are Zelda: Master Quest(Ocarina of Time remake for GameCube), Metroid Prime again, Super Mario World and Empire Earth.

Games I plan on playing soon are Twilight Princess(having a lot of trouble getting a Wii or TP for GC, so I doubt I'll be playing it soon) or possibly something for the GBA, probably Final Fantasy IV.

Yes, MD is a guy, he's also a moderator. But he doesn't seem too interested in returning yet. He prefers to watch Gundam Seed and teach Taekwondoe to students at the dojo he goes to.

GL, if even Anubis plays Super mokey ball, I think you're okay. :P But actually, Super Monkey Ball 2 was a REALLY fun game. On top of haveing a TON of levels to go through, and all of them being almost entirely different from eachother, there's also a bunch of fun minigames, like Pool, Bowling, and a dogfighting game.

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin, which might be the best game in the world, it's extremely good, and

I get the feeling this topic will have varying degrees of activities. Maybe pinnage is in order, since this is the kind of topic every forum ought to have, much like "What Are You Listening To?"

I put the Seasons expansion into the Sims 2. It's very good, it does exactly what it says it does, it adds seasons to the Sims 2. It's nice how there are only certain things that you can do in each season. The next addition that I'd like to see to the Sims universe is an actual Calendar, but I'll write about that in the Sims topic. But anyhow, if you're going to buy any expansion you'd probably want Seasons. But then, I don't have the other expansions yet. :P

So yeah, I put the Pets expansion for Sims 2 in! So far I like it as much as Seasons... I actually prefer having my Sims interacting with Pets rather than other Sims right now. :P

Been having a little Anime love lately, my brother and I have been playing Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkiachi 2 for Wii. It's pretty fun (you have over one hundred twenty characters... yes, 120, and even counting the different forms for all the characters, that's still a lot), destructible environments, great cel-shaded graphics... the Wii controls feel a bit tacked on, but they work well after some practice - some of these combos are killer.

I'm playing Metroid: Zero Mission on GBA now. I first thought of playing Final Fantasy IV Advance, but I decided on this. Awesome game, my first 2-D Metroid. Difficult and incredibly fun. Just my cup of tea.

Open For Business for the Sims 2. It's actually pretty cool, and adds a nice, new layer of strategy and way of getting money. I'd recommend it to anyone, particularly if they need something to bring them back into the game.

Good boy. It's actually the easiest 2-D metroid, but it's still difficult. Way more fun than fusion by far. I kept going back to get that 100% item collection rating, and I did : D

I downloaded Super Mario World for the Virtual Console on Wii. My old SNES copy is somewhere, but it's such an amazing game that I didn't mind.

I've already reached 74 out of the 96 levels in the game. I'm currently in the secret Special World (after the already secret Star Road).

Super Mario World = best game ever. Not to mention, this is the game where Yoshi is first introduced.

Super Mario World was an amazing game with TONS of levels and secrets. It's easily the best 2D platformer ever created. Whether or not it's the best game ever is a matter of personal opinion, though I'd definitely say it's one of the best games I own. (I have it for the GBA as well)

^ Should have been more specific - best 2D platformer/best Mario game (all an opinion, of course). I've played the GBA version too, and it's pretty much a solid port, though the SNES controls are definitely a lot easier to use, the two extra buttons add a bit of extra comfort.

Lately I've been playing less Sims 2 and playing Sim City 4, with a little Metroid Prime: Hunters on the odd occasion. I'm looking at getting my hands on Black & White 2, I loved the original. Shame Black & White 2 didn't sell well.

I have the GBA version and it's really what made me fall in love with the game. I agree that Super Mario World is the best Mario game ever. Yes, that includes the 3D titles. It's the best.

Resident Evil 4 on Wii. If you have a Wii, buy or at the very least rent this game. I'm not ashamed to say it's made me jump a few times.

Hell yeah, Blitzball rocks. I yell at my TV a lot whenever I play it.

I'm going for a mostly perfect game file this time. I've managed to get all of the Crests (easy), all of the Weapons (fairly easy) and about three of the Sigils, which gives me a fully-powered Caladbolg, Nirvana and Godhand.

[EDIT] Oh yeah, I've unlocked about three quarters of Rikku's 64 overdrives, which has been easy since I haven't used any of my rare items for much else.

Glad to see that. Try playing the SNES or VC versions though - the controls are a little tighter and more natural (it's especially difficult to play on the SP, it's too cramped).

That said, I haven't actually played video games in a long time since I went to college. Just a couple of rounds of Melee here and there with a few guys down the hall that have a 30-inch HD widescreen television set and a Wii. :P

I didn't pay for it. My dad bought it of his own accord to have a blu-ray DVD player.

The PS3 isn't bad, but it's hardly worth 400+ dollars when you have the (cheaper) 360 that has more games and the Wii which is orgasmically fun and has the virtual console.

I'm playing Zack and Wiki. Holy bejeezus this game is hard. I've had to ask for help on 4 out of 10 difficulty rating, I don't wanna see it at 10. It's quite fun, just hard. Also, dieing is pretty easy. I suppose the life scheme is perfect (when you die, you can use a Platinum Ticket to return to where you were before you died, but it takes a huge chunk out of your score), I just don't like it because it's too fair. So this game rocks...your brain.

Well I got a chance to play it for a little while. Of what I got to play, only the javalin and hammer throw, it fells pretty good. Considering I've never even touch a Wii untill tonight, I thought the controls were pretty good. Shadow pwns all the rest.

I wouldn't pay for online in one game, like WoW. If it's Xbox live though, i'll pay for that as you can play all online 360 games with that, and for a very good price. WoW is like half of the Live price and only for a month. So by playing WoW for 1 year, you'd be paying 6 times as much as you would than by playing an unlimited amount of games on the 360.

I dont know why that's relavent in any way.

Halo 3 Which is easy, an the levels are short, but I'm not going online until i've completed story mode.

Overlord Which is very very similar to Pikmin, so I jumped right in and i'm pretty far on that. Well i'm not, but i've got quite far since I got the game 22 hours ago.

Bioshock Which omg is terrifying. Its not the enemies, its the atmosphere and the unknown that could be around the corner. I hate it and love it for those reasons.

Dead or Alive 4 Which really is just for messing around when my mates are over.

That looks freaking nothing like what's on my screen, though I wouldn't be surprised if Square messed up the transition to PAL again. And if I didn't care about how a game looks graphically, I would have gone and bought a text-based RPG instead. There's a reason you connect a console to a television, and that reason is about 20 inches wide. What sense do you use the most when you play a video game? Hearing? Don't think so.

ffxii is actually quite painful to get through unfortunately. i mean, ffx was a 99 hour movie wrapped in a 2 hour game, but u were never bored.

ffxii just doesn't have enough story to back it. i dunno, i'm about half way through, and there's just way too much lvling up needed for progress. if you've finished the game can u let me know if it's worth it? cuz i've kinda quit.

graphics are good, hands must be incredibly hard to do tho, cuz i find that's the only place they're lacking.

ah see there's the thing, i extremely disliked the battle system with ffx2. it made me panic :P this is slightly better, but still, i'm so used to just good ol' turn based.

what i paticularly don't like is i have to level up for 2 hours just to survive an area, then i get a two minute cutscene and then the next area is suddenly 5 lvls above where i just got to. don't get me wrong, leveling up is something i'm used to, but i just feel i'm not getting enough in return. the story doesn't seem to be going anywhere, ffx was plot twists every 5 seconds.

kingdom hearts is more hack and slash than ff, i dunno how comparable they are. or at least u can survive with hack and slash. then again even kh varies greatly in battle system from kh2. kh2 was interesting, but took time getting used to.

There are a lot of haters of FFX2 kate, so I know how you feel. The reviews weren't that great either.

And I'm all for the ATB system Split. It makes the encounters far more interesting (and I LOVE the fact that we don't get the shatter screen in FFXII anymore)

Yeah, I really got tired of that in FFX. In fact I have an old model of the PS2, so sometimes the motion blur at the start of the battle would stick for the whole encounter. Annoying.

Kingdom Hearts had a good battle system until they put those stupid reaction commands and removed what little challenge the game had

FXII's battle system is very good, its fluid, easy and enjoyable, plus the AI is only as stupid as you are.

ATB is good but a little overused since every RPG and his dog wants to use it.

The battle system used in Tales of the Abyss and Star Ocean 2 are the best imo, great fun.

Agreed. I just preferred it on older FF's where you could go through an area resonably quickly, rather than running around one area and level up, especially when exp isn't shared with members who aren't active in your party.
I'm getting into Rogue Galaxy more now. It's like the bizarre child of Final Fantasy, Star Wars and Tales of Symphonia (don't ask me how that works). It's fun though.

FFXII is the worst Final Fantasy I've played; it's not terrible, but just average in my opinion. I hated the fact that it used FFXI's battle system.

The PC is probably the most underrated and overrated console at the same time.

I love playing on the pc, more possibilities IMO because of the mouse/keyboard combination.

Scratch what I said before about Revenant Wings having no character development. Unlike FFXII, this game actually has it, especially Vaan and Penelo. Both are a lot more defined now; the biggest thing that Penelo did in FFXII was get kidnapped. >.>

The levels are preaty simple in most parts(though some cna be tough), but the bosses are just ****ing nuts. Think Dullahan, Emerald and Ruby Weapon(FF7) and Omega Weapon(FF8) combined. That's the intensity of them.
