could do with some recommendations of what anime series i should watch next, i've just finished Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which was one of the best series ever, and am stuck as to what o move onto, herte's the series i have available to me

    Yumeria
    Bleach
    Fruits Basket
Mamoru-kun ni Megami no Shukufuku wo!
    Shingetsutan Tsukihime
    Chobits
    Love Hina
    Burst Angel
    Naruto
    Nagasarete Airantou
    Haibane Remnei
    Gantz
    Ah My Goddess S1
    Ah My Goddess S2
    D. Gray Man
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Hellsing
    Hitohira
    Jubei Chan the Ninja Girl
    Mahou Shoujotai
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Onegai Teacher
    Scrapped Princess
    Tales of Phantasia
    Trigun
    My-Hime
    My-Otome

and the last few series i've watched

    Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
    Claymore
    Final Approach
    Inukami!
    Ikki Tousen (AKA Battle Vixens)
    Gintama (ongoing)

so can anyone recommend off my list, i have seen quite a few episodes of Bleach and Naruto but they're pretty crap and the series are infinitely inferior to their manga counterparts.

probably should mention finding a series is not a problem in the slightest for me, so if you've anything else to recommend go nuts.

    thanks

Rurouni Kenshin is my recomendation. It's a good series, or at least the manga is. I've only seen the first few episodes of the anime, but it is good. My only problem with the anime is the sorta mess up the names by switching the name order to english format instead of keeping the japanese style of last name, first name. And many of the Japanese terms that are a true part of the manga, imo, are replaced with their english counter parts. You'll see if you watch it.

got the first 20 episodes of Rurouni Kenshin on torrent, hopefully it'lll be good, hopefully it wont be dubbed either. Recommending an anime because the manga was good can backfire horribly. torrents gonna take a while so anyone got anything to watch in the meantime?

What anime is your signature from Tasuki and Laharl?

I recommend DN Angel. I've also heard good things about Love Hina, but I personally cannot recommend it.

Bleach [Watch, if you can handle the episode count.]
                    Fruits Basket [Popular, worth watching.]
Chobits [I've only got volume one of this on DVD, but it's great.]
Love Hina [Manga is better than the anime, if you like this check out Negima.]
Burst Angel [Avoid this, I have most of it on DVD and it was a waste.]
Naruto [Much like Bleach, watch it if you can handle the silly episode size.]
Haibane Remnei [I've heard some good things about it, and it looks great.]
Gantz [There's a lot of gore and even an all-out sex scene, the ending sucks.]

                        thanks man

Bleach and Naruto have been shonenized to the point that's just crap and not even fun to watch, they're too slow paced and littered with god awful filler. The manag for each series is far superior

Read all of Love Hina and up to date with Negima, sadly to me the animes for each series look to have no where near the quality of the manga counterparts, especially Negima, they couldnt even get hair colour right

i'm actually catching up with Sketchbook then i'll move onto Fruits Basket as its had the most recs

everything and nothing, its a bit like a Azumanga Daioh.

                            *goes to find a summary*

The series follows the everyday life of four highschool girls. The main character is Konata Izumi, a female otaku who enjoys anime and video games. There's an awful lot of nonsensical conversations about random things and parodies of many other anime.

just found out its been licensed, it aint gonna westernize well at all

So the whole series is more or less a PWP story? I guess I'll just watch the subbed version, english dubs can be nice, but not always.

I wish the orginal voice actors that do the Japaneese cut could do the English cut. Cause sometimes the English voice actors realy screw up the characters with their poor vocals.

Naruto, FMA, and Bleach are all good. I don't read manga whatsoever, so I have no opinion towards their differences. However, there's a few things that I lke more/dislike more about the english dub vs. sub of Naruto. The way things are said in the dub are better, but the japanese version obviously has more gore. Though only slightly. Naruto isn't all that gory. The sub also has swearing, but I don't care about that either way. The first english opening is way better than the japanese one though, imo.

SUB >>>> DUB. End of disscussion

Finished Fuits Basket, absolutely loved it,a real treat as i wasnt expecting it to be my kind of thing thing :)

Rurouni Kenshin has finished torrenting so i'll watch that and if it sucks Escout's life will be forfeit

gonna get some blank DVDs and get the rest of my collection back so expect the list to get a lot bigger at some point

Just don't judge the whole series on the first ten minutes of episode one.

FMA is a cool show. I'm watching it now. I'm up to episode 21 at the moment. A pitty that I first started watching it at the end of the series seeing the last two episodes first, so I know how it ends. But now I can learn what built up to it.

I can't find any torrents for Gurren Lagann that are active and AREN'T in high-def. My PC suck, so the audio get ahead a LOT. Anyone know where to get eps. 16-27 in standard def?

Go for deathnote, its a short series but simply brilliant. It gets a little boring in the mid 20's but just endure the few episodes its worth it.

Fruits basket was cute, I got addicted quickly. But it was too short, IMO, so then I lost interest in it.

Naruto was the opposite. If you're a newbie to the series, you have about 250 episodes to catch up on. I gave up around episode 20 XD

Personally, my favorite is Rockman.exe (The Japanese, original version of Megaman NT Warrior.) It is SOOOOOO MUCH BETTER than the english version, that it's hardly the same thing. Dubbing it totally killed the series.

How did you like Claymore? We started watching that last year in our anime club, but only showed an episode or two when we did a popouiri showing one day.

I've heard that it's actually not that bad, and some of the later battles in the arc are phenomenal. Many of my friends say that they didn't even realize it was filler. I plan on watching through it once I get caught up with the latest episode (around 154, I'm still watching 143).
