I just came across a video explaining the new techniques used in the new Star Wars game, and it's simply mind-boggling.

In the new game you'll be playing Darth Vader's apprentice, a strong force sensitive who acts behind the scenes during the period between the 3rd and 4th movie. The period of chaos where the sith manage to claim the republic more or less for themselves. In the game the consequences of order 66 and the forming of Darth Vader will be... investigated. You'll be visiting the wookie world Kashyyyk (whoo!), junkyard planet Raxus Prime, Mushroom covered Felucia, meet some other Jedi.

That being the story, this video is what made me go crazy. It looks so fricking awesome. The technologies make the force look super special awesome as well.

    Finally the official site: http://www.theforceunleashed.com

I've known about this game forever, since my friend who is a Star Wars nerd told me. Does sound interesting, chances are he'll buy it and I'll just borrow it from him.

Most reviews I've seen make the game seem average, which is quite worrying.

I have to admit, the demo left something to be desired, but hey, if a demo showed you everything, whats the point?
I mulled it over and decided to get it tonight. I love the DMM technology that's going into it though. If anything I just want to break as much **** as I can. I mean, the things that break can break the way they really would, its not just an art swap.

I played the demo countless times through, and then realized that the game would most likely get repetitive.

It was fun for awhile, then it started to feel a bit dull. Now that was probably because it was the same portion of the umpteen times over, but I can't see the gameplay evolving much from the demo.

At least DoA developed the fighting before the physics instead of the whole game being, hey lookit me! I can fly!

That's because a destructive environment only goes so far. I mean, after a while, all you're left is a flat surface with rubble. That's what it felt like in Crysis anyways. Crysis was great, and the destructive environment allowed for some interesting tactics, but it got boring after a while.

No, the reason why Crysis could be boring is due to the sandbox nature of it. The sandbox style gameplay was what made Crysis great, but it also meant the action was a bit slower than most FPS. Destructive environment only made it better. Poor example there.
