Deadbeard Probably the best strategy...

First:
Everybody must be lv 30+ (I was on 35 and I was disappointed because I had yellow HP only when I wasn't healing myself for 3 turns in row...))
Second:
You need special classes:
Ivan, Mia: Sage (6Me+1J/6J+1Me)
Isaac, Garet: Berserker (6M+1V/6V+1M)
IMO this is the best possible set in GS (I know, Samurai/Ninja may be better than Berserker but when You have Samurai in Your party at least one member is crap)
Ivan and Mia are faster than Isaac and Garet and it's really good because it makes battle shorter by ~3 turns!
Third: Strategy.
One word for the beginning: Deadbeard has Break. It's his HUGE DISadvantage. Why? Look:
1st turn:
Ivan uses High Impact
Mia uses High Impact
Isaac's Gaia Blade let's out a howl! Titan Blade!
Garet's Demon Axe let's out a howl! Poison Cloud!
Of course You don't unleash all the time but You should give Isaac and Garet Hyper Boots, Spiked Armor and Warrior Helmet to Isaac to unleash more often.
Deadbeard uses Break (Yes! He use Break all fuc**** time when You use e.g. High Impact. His second turn is usually stat booster like Ward, chance of using Freeze Prism/Inferno is ~1/3)
Deadbeard uses stat booster/some ****ty Psynergy (Inferno, Freeze Prism ^_^) which takes only 1/10-1/5 of your HP (single Wish).
Follow these turns to his dead end (I was shocked that it was so fast and without any problem), when somebody has ~1/2 HP or less, use Wish Well with Ivan/Mia. Don't let him boost his stats more than twice, use Break (Sages have this Psynergy) and he will be wasting two turs on regaining his stats while you deal 500-600 damage with Berserkers and heal with other Sage.
I just beat him second time, soo easy...
Hope You'll like it.
P.S. I read many guides and I have never found this strategy.
You can put here other Boss strategies.

took me a few tries and was around level 50 and just used flash and granite for cover when I really needed healing and managed to use a few summons.

I was able to beat him on my first try. Yes he was a pain in the butt, but all I did was have Issac and Garet use Flash and Granite ONLY when things started to get sticky. They are all their elemental class ( Issac = Earth element, Garest Fire element) and I beat him in 5 min. They were all lvl 32 lol

I just plain beat him at level 40. XD I probably used judgement once or twice, but w/e.
Nice boss strategy, though I don't really see a need for it outside of complete speed runs (i.e. completeing 100% of the game in as little time as possible).

I raped him in the ass and he just gave up. I strongly recommend this strategy, especially Garet can do this well! :)
