Didn't they mention GS twice in an interview a little while back. And this AT thnig is probably a hint towards a new game. Ya, a character would have been better, but an AT is good, especially because so many peopel want the game.

This was sent to Sega, Nintendo and Camelot. There are a lot of people that want us to make that game as well. We don’t know what form it would take, but we want to answer the requests of the fans.

GI: If you did make another Golden Sun would it appear on a portable or would you make it fully realized on a home console?

Hiroyuki Takahashi: As a thought off the top of my head, if I could make something that would combine the handheld and the console – with the past and the future – if I could combine both of those that would be great. But that’s just a thought. (laughs)

Putting him in as an AT is like saying that they want to and are interested, but can't make it at the moment. If it was a character, it would say "OMFG WE'RE MAKEING A GS3!!1!111," which is probably one reason why he wasn't included. Because of the pressure it would put on Camelot. But, there were also more requested characters, and with all the content, it is quite possible that they wouldn't have had the time to include him, regardless of the delays.

Oh, I was planning on doing that the moment I got the chance, but I didn't know I could change it already. Thanks for letting me know.

EDIT: It won't change. 180 days haven't yet passed since the 28th of October. I'm guessing Caael asked Max to change his name back, while Toasty's 180 days have already passed. This means that Fire Dude can't change his name back to Diddy yet either.
