Any news from Camelot nowadays is worth a look, so I wanted to point out a recent IGN article and interview. Draw your own conclusions, but it looks like another 6-12 months before they'd be ready to announce their new title officially. More updates from me soon.

      Interview seems real...

Anywayz, any news is good news I guess. Pretty obvious they are working on a new RPG now. Let us hope it's GS related ^.^

lolz, at the Zelda movie trailer.

The answer doesn't give much information up. It just seems to say 'Oh we like our games and would like to do more.' There's little suggestion that they would.

Well, they're working on a RPG right? Is GS their most successful RPG? If yes, most likely it'll be GS, unless it's a new IP. Sure hope not.

Any way you look at it, it's still good news. Camelot is going to be making an RPG, so it might be GS3. But if it's not, most likely it will use the same formula.

Sounds like they want to make an RPG but aren't doing it yet. They're a small company, they can't work on a lot of games at one time. It's bad when a small company tries to work on numerous games. I'm looking at you, Lionhead.

Anyway, even if their next RPG isn't Golden Sun it should be similar in terms of gameplay.

I believe it. Notice the March 31st, and not April 1st. That's good enough for me.

That'd be awesome! I'd be real cool if they made it on the Wii, where you'd have to use Psynergy as Move and Pound with the WiiMote! Maybe now thanks to Brawl, you could use Move in battle too, I always wanted to do that! ^^

Last I heard, smaller companies (a long time ago camelot was small; I'm assuming they still are) had to make a lot of very popular games to pay for anything less than a well-received one. I know Golden Sun sold very well, but it probably didn't do well enough for them, and they needed more money, hence all the golf games.

I am willing to bet that this game will be a Shining Force game, as they have talked about those games more than Golden Sun, but I think GS3 will arrive immediately afterwards. My opinion about it all lol

I'm sorry for the bump, but I'm so glad I read this! Wow... so a Camelot RPG is still somewhat in the works. Before I read this, the last thing I read regarding Camelot was that they were breaking away from Nintendo to work on their golf game. Sure they're still working on a golf game but at least it's back on Nintendo's platform and they even mentioned an RPG is up in the air. With a cliffhanging ending from Golden Sun 2, Golden Sun would be the perfect series to continue... although to be totally honest I haven't played Shining Force so I have no idea about its plot. (No idea it was by Camelot. I'll check it out soon.) I'm really hoping that Camelot doesn't start a new RPG series... I would really love finding out the continuation of Golden Sun's story!

How was Golden Sun 2's ending a cliffhanger?...

They were all reunited with their families, they stopped the end of the world, Alex was trapped on the mountain and everybody was happy. I'd be quite content if the series ended where they left it.

They never explained what happened to Alex and what his limitations really were. If you recall, he obtained the power of alchemy, yet he couldn't "conjure up a simple storm." He did have a lot of energy as he showed the Wise One, but the Wise One told him he had limitations.
Then he fell into Sol Sanctum and no one knows what happens after. Also with the power of alchemy available to the humans (or perhaps just human since Alex was the only one on the mountain?) and all of the lighthouses released, how will that affect the entire world? How will the people from Value continue their lives? There's plenty of unanswered questions in Golden Sun 2 that I would love to be answered in another sequel.

The best way to describe it is that the main plot issues were tied up, and only speculation remains. In my opinion, there isn't enough to make a 3rd game from it.

I think there is just enough to either leave it or take it. You could have it either way in my opinion. I'm guessing that's the way the producers of the game wanted it, just in case they needed something to rely on, if they are ever low on hits. Which wouldn't seem to be the case at this point.

My memory is a bit hazy but I also recall an unresolved deal regarding Isaac gaining some of that alchemy from the Mars lighthouse. Though I would like to see another GS, I don't know if they will continue with GS.

Yeh, Isaac recieved part of the Stone of Sages or whatever. Also, there's the floating continent of Anemos that some believe to be the moon (it's the continent that Sheba fell from) which could be further explained, and some other stuff.

So yeah, I agree with Enoch.

Then again they could completely renew characters and make the new set of heroes their children. Who knows
