Ok it's not exactly Hot-Coffee stuff, and it's also from the Daily Mail, who hate games almost as much as Jack Thompson, but it's pretty weird for Nintendo to be suggested as controversial.
I guess it shows they still have some issues with their software.

They stir up crap like this all the time.
With that said, they would have a good point if it wasn't for the fact that I wholeheartedly believe children should come to terms with their weight in order to beat it.
I read in the papers today that the best way to overcome obesity was to pay the kids not to eat x.x
Kids that are obese, save those with medical conditions, have only themselves and their parents to blame. I refuse to safeguard their feelings over this, the Daily Mail can get bent.

@Raven: At least you don't get it shoved through your door everyday. I try and convince my parents that it's rubbish but they still get it.

Well yes, but isn't it designed to make you fit? It's going to be pretty difficult if it doesn't know your weight.

I'd prefer to actually see the girl before simply judging her as fat.
The idea of the game deserving an 18 rating made me laugh though. It would look out of place surrounded by GTA and Manhunt.

Seriously though, I can't believe they wanna 18+ it. What the hell would the disclaimer on the back say?!
Warning, this game contains disturbing content: Your weight!
XD Actually, they should totally do that.

Anyway, the girl mentioned in the article wasn't fat. She was just more built than most kids her age. I've known a few people like that over the years. They're not fat, just big. That's where the controversy is coming from with this.
Though I'm all for Wii Fit calling people fat. :P Hopefully it'll reduce obesity to some extent.

I mean, don't get me wrong, the game has to give an honest account or it would be useless otherwise. However some people can get pretty badly abused because of their weight, and having their TV tell them they're overweight wouldn't make them feel better.
I guess it's an unfortunate mix.
