This is a form of gaming that has seen a decline in recent years. However, for many people, arcades are still great, fun places to go to, and there remains a dedicated group of fans who go play games there even to this day.

And you guys? Are arcades your thing?

My dad held the Wonder Boy In Monster Land highscore in 3 different arcades for over a year in Kingston back when he was a kid. Plus he kicks major arse in Galaga, Ms.Pacman, and Mario Bros.(The one with the pow blocks.)
      :P.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I've rarely been in an arcade. I've only got one memory from them, when I beat my friend on a game like Time Crisis.
It was impressive as I had never played it before whereas he had played it loads. But most arcades don't have games that you're really interested in.
Actually I do have another memory. I first discovered the original Metal Slug in a hotel in Cyprus. I must have spent quite a bit in that machine, but it was worth it.

Me11... I remember a hotel in Cyprus that had Metal slug as well, and street fighter next to it I think.

Freaky... though the one I was in didn't have Street Fighter. I don't suppose you remember what it was called?

                        Never mind then.
They had a bunch of arcade machines there, but I only remember Metal Slug.

GL you left an important genre out of the poll, Pineball. That and Street Fighter are what eat all my quarters.
