Here in the hot, dry southwestern United States, it's well...hot and dry. XD 110 degrees F, which is 43 C for all you other folk. Only two more months of this, but at least the monsoons have started up, which means the rain will help cool it off even if just a little. Of course, that also means there's a high chance of lightning striking a tree and starting a forest fire, but meh. We're used to it XD

If only we could build a huge canal that stretches from the gulf of mexico to the pacific ocean and runs across the US/Mexico border, we'd be set :P We'd have a beach and they'd stay on their side. It'd all work! ^^

And split, no offense taken. And my showers are only usually around 20 minutes. I don't spend a lot of time in the shower (thank god for short hair). Ever since I read an article about just HOW severe the drought is, I've been doing what I can to conserve water. I wish the issue was stressed more...so many times people leave the water running in the school bathroom ('cause those push-down faucets get stuck) but no one turns them off. It's easy enough to do so, so I try to do it whenever I can.

Lately the temperature has been around 100, so it's not as bad. We're not supposed to get rain though until next week. Booo... :[
And that's cool that your brother is a meteorologist. I've considered that as a career as well. (okay, so I've considered a lot of careers, but meteorology sounded more interesting.) Haha, here, you don't have to be right about the forecast to get paid. Seems like an easy job XD

- Let us not even talk about the hurricane season. Predicting and naming hurricanes, plus ensuring correct information is given to the public, so that the right responses are made.
- How about those Hurricane Hunters who fly into the eye? Yes, there are hardly any accidents, but this job is daring.
There are SO much jobs in meterology, so simply classifying it in that simple way is kinda stupid.

I'm not sure what to think about global warming and all. I mean, last winter we had a fxcking SNOW DAY in a place that is just about on the border of Mexico. The place that is normally 30-40 C got to about -7 C during the winter. What the heck? o.O
I think all your snow is just tired of you so it's migrating to us ^^

Is is usual to rain on your independence day?
It's been in the High 90's and low 100's for the past few weeks with clear skies more than half the time. Also, it hasn't rained once on Independance day in the past 9 years of me living here.
So yeah, I'd say so.
Anyway, it only rained twice for a few minutes (though it rained hardm and it was pretty windy), so the hot sun dried everything up pretty well before it set behind the horizon.
Also, people lit off fireworks inside city limits regardless of the law, and the only fire that I know of was caused by the CITY'S firework display. The fire sprouted up fairly close to where I was too. XD
But it's wierd because that place catches on fire EVERY YEAR, and yet it seems to be the only patch of dry brush that the fire department doesn't do a controlled burn on before the 4th.

We usually don't get much snow anyway. Maybe one or two inches on average, with some years haing half an inch at best. Though there was this one time way back in elementary school where there was a blizzard and we got like, 6 or 7 inches, and school was closed because the plows couldn't plow fast enough.
But Wenatchee isn't very far from us, and they've got a mountain for skiing/snowboarding that usually opens mid-late November.
