This article made me wonder if there will be more games of the Megaman 9 variety. It's interesting how Capcom have dared to use old techniques to play on people's memories, but all the signals are that they've made the right choice. Do you think that there's room for new titles from old series, or is it time to leave these games in the past?
Personally I'd love a Sonic 4. Seriously I'd love it. Screw mediocre 3D titles.

Just give it a save function this time. I've still got a sega megadrive somewhere with the first two sonic titles. You had to finish it one go.

That was never much fun, especially as Sonic 2 had so many levels. Still, new releases of them let you save.

Phantasy Star V would be awesome
Also if this were to happen it may win Nintendo back some respect from the serious gamers it tossed aside in favour of casualageddon

I wouldn't mind seeing more 2D-style games again. =(
2D ages better than 3D.

When it's 2D, the graphics have less of an impact in how dun the game is. Graphics mean more when it's a 3D game.
But I'm not exactly excited about seeing a bunch of 16-bit games. 2D is fine, but I'd like to see 24 bit color at least, you know? GoldenSun continues to be great because of the gameplay, but it wouldn't be as enjoyable if it was in 16 bit color.

So this just means the games would either have 1. Worse graphics or 2. Worse graphics and less features.

I think its a good Idea, all the Megaman games on NES were really fun, when the graphics got better it didn't seem as fun nor as good on the NES, also I like 8 bit graphics and the music is really catchy for it, although it could put a lot of people off who're new to it.
