All too true. Also, I'd like to point out how most of these fall under FPS.

I saw that earlier in the week. It's true. Call of Duty 4? Pah! Paperboy was much harder!

        Agreed a hundred times.

I usually enjoy difficult games more than the easy ones. However, people these days don't want a game that's challenging. Or one that's funwhile we're at it, it just needs realistic graphics and good marketing and it's an instant seller...

Before playing Radiant Dawn, I saw that each and every reviewer said that the game is TOO difficult, and kept complaining about it. But actually, it's easy as ****. I was disappointed with the difficulty.

I wish games would always be as hard as F-Zero GX and Echoes. Those were two amazing games, among me very favourites, and their difficulty was one of the reasons I was so drawn into them.

All of these are thanks to the casual market.

Thanks, 8 year olds. Thanks a lot.

            • Interests:I enjoy watching anime (Naruto, FMA, One Piece, Elfin Lied etc). I also enjoy flash animating. If you want to know me more just send me a message and if you want to add me onto msn just ask (prefer it that way).

Of course I'm a gamer, I like mainly Nintendo games but I also like Microsoft and Sony's. My faves are: Golden Sun 1 and 2, Jump Ultimate Star, Naruto class of Ninja, Metroid prime 1, 2 and 3, Legend of Zelda, Bioshock, Medal of Honour etc and so on.

Only games that i would say are difficult in these modern times is Izuna and Izuna 2 for DS, they're solid (and fun) to play but overall most games for wii, 360 and PS3 seems to be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easy

I only like the checkpoints out of those.

I hate playing easy bits before hard bits. Just give me the easy ones.

To be fair, would you enjoy playing games where you cant get past the first stage still? Saves/checkpoints have no reason to be on that list; i'm not sure about anybody else, but I dont like having to replay hours of game to get to where I was before.

Quicksaves/autosaves are fine. In a game like Crysis you kind of need them, lest you lose your sanity of doing the SAME DAMN THING over and over until you get it right.

                      Sounds like Kaizo.

Saves are fine. Everything else is stupid. And they forgot fast travel.

save points and 'save and quit' should be the only ones really. none of this save where you want, whenever you want crap.

Depends on the game. In Crysis you really need quicksaves.

                            Oblivion too.

Mario, save points and save and quit is best.

Reminds me of Slippery Climb from Crash Bandicoot. You had to backtrack through the levels just to stockpile enough lives for an attempt. I died like forty times in the space of an hour trying to reach that checkpoint. :/

But at least it was FUN.

I thought paperboy sucked. =/ But then again, I only spent a few minutes playing the game, so my opinion there is kida null and void.

Easy games are boring, but hard games are frustrating. I like a game where it's difficult, but not impossible. Two or three attmepts to pass a level wouldn't be too much to ask. 40 is overkill though.

I thought RD was harder than PoR (PoR was actually fairly easy, save for a few parts), but it wasn't too hard either. It remains as the only Wii game I own thus far which I think about finishing.

Though some of the first few chapters in RD were brutal for being so early on in the game.

Anyway, the article speaks the truth.

Oh no, the satisfaction of beating that one level and later the game was more than worth it. It's when the difficulty comes down to say, a factor of chance, or an insane amount of grinding, that it loses that satisfaction.
