Nintendo's finishing move. Hopefully it wasn't a K.O.

It's bundled with an incredibly good selling console.

Really? If someone told me that a game I'd released in the past two years would become the best selling ever, I'd be pretty pleased as it means I've got a successful console on my hands and people are likely to buy more for it.
I can't say I'm really bothered. I mean, Super Mario Bros came out like 20 years ago. It was going to replaced at some point in the future, as will Wii Sports.

Not that Sports is a bad game, but no way it deserves to be the best.

The title makes up for the gameplay though.

Um, you're joking, right? At least don't try to state your assumptions as fact. At least half my friends have a Wii, so I've been playing games with them a lot, especially SSBB. Some people, like me, don't enjoy the Wii that much because of its completely casual focus. Obviously it's a great marketing strategy, though, as the casual and non-gamer market is pretty huge and the Wii is pretty much something anyone can play.

I'm going to pick this post apart because I can and because i'm like that.
First off, yes Nintendo have stepped up their marketing loads since the Gamecube. But really, it's a shallow victory because when the games are as rushed as they are, it's a bit like selling cigarettes. I dont think Nintendo care about the quality anymore, just as long as they sell. Like cigarettes, the companies couldn't give less of a shit if people died smoking them, just as long as they get the money. I understand why games like Wii Fit and Wii music are popular, but I wouldn't buy them myself because now it seems the Wii is more of an accessory as opposed to a game console.
Second of all, how can you accuse me of having no friends when you dont know me in real life? When I have friends over, we play Warioware on Wii because a)thats the only game that supports 12 players, and :P because its fun. You cant assume nobody on this forum has friends when you clearly dont know them in real life. Just because you think you're high and mighty and somehow better than us, doesn't mean none of us have social lives.
And I dont criticise all Wii games, just the ones that deserve criticism. Wii sports doesn't really deserve to be the best selling game because it's shoved into your hands whether you want it or not (yes I know japan has to buy it separately but I'm assuming the majority of the market is in the west). My little brother got "Boom Blox" for christmas, and it's very good. Really fun, the controls dont feel like they're tacked on for the hell of it, and lots of replay value (multiplayer, build your own levels).
Dont go jumping to conclusions and assuming everybody is the same,

Also, a number of NES's came bundled with Super Mario Bros so it's really just re-using an old strategy.

I'm sure they'll take solace in making millions of dollars though.

The Wii does feel like a damn accesory. Mine just ****ing sits there unless I need to use the Internet Channel. Which I've been too lazy to do.

Most people won't care about what happens if you take a diferent route. They won't "evaluate" anything. It'll just be "monkey see, monkey do".
Yay for interactive television.
