Well it's soft so it wouldn't smash the screen unless you threw it in a specific way. I guess it would knock the tv over if you threw it hard enough.
Also Nintendo don't really care if people mock their products for being worthless because they'll still get tons of money from the same people who went nuts over Wii Sports Resort.
