Brutal Legend

Demo was good. The gameplay was actually a little meh and it was too short, but previews have shown there's way more aspects to the game than what's shown in the demo. Plus, the game oozes so much character it's really hard to not like it. Definitely picking this up some day, but maybe not a day 1 purchase from me.

Hmm... I guess I'll pre-order this after all. I just about never pre-order games.

Really, the packaging combined with this one-hour demonstration of gameplay that made me decide this is a day 1-ish buy.

The thing I like most is the guitar and the open world. The last game that had a musical instrument that actually affects the game world was like, Wind Waker.

Tim is a genius. Especially where he puts Through the Fire and Flames.

I can see this game being a miss with a lot of people, though. Brutal Legend tries to do a lot of things but it doesn't really excel at any of them. It does excel at being a lot of fun with a lot of character, however, and for that reason I consider this game to be amazing. Having a taste for metal and classic hard rock helps a lot.

In what order are the benefits from freeing Bound Serpents? With each set of 10, I mean. I need units with more HP and I'm pretty sure that's a benefit you can get.

From a story perspective, the game was too short. At the end
From a gameplay perspective, it was about right in length. That is, IF you go it at pace and look for stuff to do and find between missions. If all you do is just story missions after story mission it is too short, and I pity you for doing it that way because you're doing it WRONG

Edit: Oh ffs, they've still not put it on the rental listings.
