How do you concentrate on homework/studying?

Has always been a weak point for me. I don't have ADD or anything but I can't for the life of me get schoolwork done when I expect/want it to be done. I wander off like Jason a 2 year old and something simple like a 20 question worksheet turns into a multi-hour affair.

Music, preferably headphones so all other sound is blocked. Works wonders.

I don't really mind getting distracted because I know after I've done something else for awhile I'll feel guilty and end up going back to my work. If it's a big ass essay I just pull an all nighter.

Just the idea that it has to be done has been enough in the past. I'll put it off as long as I can, but usually the work gets done.
But I never study.

Instrumentals. I always get too caught up in vocals when listening to other music. Otherwise, my best advice is :D

Honestly, I'm not one to give advice on this, since I don't even study, and I do my homework in class the day it's due (for math, at least).
But I will say that though I used to listen to music whenever I did my homework in the past, since entering high school, I find that it impairs my ability to think. Unless it's really simple instrumental stuff. Food seems to help me think sometimes, but that's because I'm usually hungry. Though I wouldn't suggest doing that unless you've got a high metabolism.

As watch said, it all comes down to willpower... I've found that, even in the worst of procrastinating or inability to work, forcing yourself to sit down and begin is the biggest barrier you need to overcome.
And when I say force, that can come in a lot of ways. Ironically, it's usually due to a lack of time to get the assignment done.

I listen to movie scores or classical or whatever. And I'm always better at working late at night for some reason.

Well, it could be the relaxing aspect of jerking off and clearing the mind? NOT talking from experience or anything...
