Hope you guys had a good one. I just went up to the boonies to visit my grandparents. Wish my aunt and uncle could've been there but they live all the way in Oregon so the weather's always too bad to get here. I must've been good this year though because I got some sweet loot including a kick ass gaming headset - Logitech g930. I didn't expect it at all <3 my dad

Some excellent Turkey I was given the privilege of cutting
                  A spacepen
                  A Happyface mug
A total of $220 I haven't yet decided how to waste

It is. Quite a few huge BIG chains/empires/businesses rely solely on the revenue Christmas generates. Without it they'd go under.

American culture in general is 100x more materialistic than any other culture, it isn't exactly a secret.

On one forum some guy said "I didn't get much this year due to the credit crunch" and then listed some horrendously expensive items and $500 cash. I'd hate to know what he'd get on a 'good' year.

Yeah I know. I straight up got an iPod (I had 3 nanos of various generations but I broke them all between now and November), a few books, some candy, a giftcard and like $150 and I'm thinking people went a little overboard. Maybe it's just because I'm poor.

Hmm. The most expensive thing I got was a very nice $400 set of Zildjian cymbals which I wasn't expecting in the slightest. Other than that,

-DSi (which was ~$80 after my discount, and my in-store credit payed for most of it, but I'm happy regardless)
                                -case for DSi
                                -Dark Dawn
                                -Both Brain Age games
                                -FFIV for the DS
                                -AW: DoR
                                -EVGA 512MB GT240
                                -2x4GB kit of G.Skill RAM

All of the above (except for cymbals) totaled to ~$215. The cymbals put my present about $200 over what I usually get, which made me pleasantly surprised.

Though my sister and I argued quite a bit, as usual. At least the food was really good. :D

My parents barely spend anything on me throughout the year. I don't even get new clothes unless it's christmas or my birthday, or school is about to start up.

Though I also don't usually ask for anything throughout the year either.
