Has anyone else here played CS:Source yet? For those of you that don't know what it is, Counter-Strike was a fan-made mod for Half-Life, a FPS. The new version of Half-Life (HL2) uses a new engine called "Source", so Valve (makers of HL) have ported CS to the new engine. So basically this is another realistic FPS multiplayer game.

Anyways, I've had alot of fun playing it so far, though I can't say I'm very good (though I am improving!). Does anyone else here play? And if so, on what server(s)?

I have played CS:S but my computer processor isn't fast enough to handle it without my latency being over 2000 even in a decent game.

I have lagged through a few levels de_dust and aztec (on the first day of release) and I loved in in-game physics. You can shoot guns and 'nades and stuff all across the level.

Max, do you play CS:CZ, or CS 1.6 at all?

How does CS: Source differ against the "original" CS (I've played the latter, but I'm curious about the other one... however old the games may be).

CS:S has better graphics, and that's pretty much it. AFAIK CS:S really isn't big, and the majority of CS players have stuck with 1.6.

Most original CS players have stuck with the original because of the better netcode, the source engine although very effective isnt the greatest for a game like CS. You get lag shots....where you may hit them in the head but in that second you lagged behind and it did no damage to them even though it was a 1 hit kill.

I used to play it all the time, had a clan in it. Then I got maplestory lol.

I play CS: Source regulary, I find Source much better than 1.6 in many ways - not just the graphics. But they removed the tactical shield ;_;

I'm in a clan and we regulary have clan wars ^^ much better than playing in pub servers all the time.

Haha, freaking Steam updated CS: 1.6 with ads, as a lot of people stuck with 1.6 (LIKE ME. T_T), so people will buy Source. But, before that, they ****ed source up with the new radar and stuff.
