How high are your people? I have gotten my high is Felix at lvl 60, and low is Sheba at (how sad) lvl 50.

I'm the relatively average levels... In GS, it's around 45.. The only reason I got that high was because when I was traveling from Ohio to Pennsylvania on my friend's car, I got really bored... And TLA, well, It's around 59.. *sigh* Leveling really is a pain, sometimes. Not so much in TLA, where there are Wonder Birds...

I think training is the very best medicine if you can't get past something. Don't resort to cheats. So far, i'm playing GS again and i got my characters at lvl...4,5. lol, As you can see, i have not gone far.

true, and fighting every random battle you encounter is generally a good way to go through the whole game... especially when you finally get the Lure Cap (was it beating Colloso or...)

ahh, my characters at the end of GS1 (one of the times I played it...) were 31 (Ivan was still 30... turned out he only needed like 100 more experience points to get to lvl. 31 <_< )

I finished Golden Sun at level 26 with everyone, and I finished Golden Sun 2 with my front party (Jenna, Mia, Issac and Felix) at level 48-49 and my back up party at levl 46-48.

I am only posting my GS1 levels here. BECAUSE THIS IS THE GS1 GENERAL DISCUSSION! NO GS2! This is not flaming anyone in particular, though.
I'd like to say I had everyone lv. 99 but that would be lying so...
My best play through got me:
Isaac- 46
Garet- 45
Ivan- 44
Mia- 45

Currently I'm working on my 20th play through, and I am just boarding the Tolbi-Bound Ship with these levels:
Isaac- 24 (Mother Gaia, YAY!)
Garet- 23
Ivan- 23
Mia- 23
I mean to get to level 26 before Colosso so I have Potent Cure. I set level goals for myself (to Isaac's level), such as:
Lv. 8- Bilibin
Lv. 12- Tret
Lv. 15- Saturos
Lv. 18 (Garet also must be I8)- Killer Ape
Lv. 20- Hydros Statue
Lv. 22- Manticore
Lv. 24- Kalay Docks
Lv. 26- Colosso
Lv. 28- Storm Lizard
Lv. 30- Tempest Lizard
Lv. 36- Deadbeard
Lv. 42- Saturos and Menardi, as well as Fusion Dragon

My worst run-through was my first, where I did not go to Crossbone Isle, did not save Hammet, did not get Bane, Granite (I couldn't find the entrance to Kolima Tunnel!), Tonic, and some others, did not get any Map Djinn but Hail, and had these aweful levels:
Lv. 2- Vault Inn, but Ivan was lv. 4
Lv. 4- Bilibin
Lv. 5- Tret
Lv. 8- Saturos, but Mia was lv. 10
Lv. 10- Killer Ape
Lv. 13- Hydros Statue
Lv. 14- Colosso (How I managed to get to get through that huge portion of the game only over 1 level, I do not remember)
Lv. 25- Final Bout with Saturos and Menardi
Lv. 26 (learned Potent Cure!)- Fusion Dragon

It is amazing that some people played throught the game finishing with level 18 characters!

I beat GS at level 26 the first time I played the game because I was Going for a time completion record and the second time I beat the game was for keeps because I got almost all the djinn and some of the srongest weapons.

level 25 should be more than enough...level 20 is enough...I once beat it at that level. Of course, the last boss can be quite challenging at those levels. Most other play-thrus... I usually end up at lvl 30...and one time, i played it just to get to very high levels so i could pwn the snot out of the fusion dragon. right now in GS my people are at their high 30s. in TLA they're at the high 50s. though this is with training at the turtle island place which is great with those wonderbirds.

that would be fun to get Jenna at a high lvl in GS before she gets kidnaped. then transfer data and she would be at a nice start. i think i'll try just to see how high i get her before i get bored. probably only lvl 10 at the most

Karst I doubt you'd be able to get her that high. That place is really small and too little experience to reach that far IMO... Unless you play for a very long time.

My characters were about in mid 30's. I tried to get it to 54 but its so hard to lvl up in venus lighthouse. So I just kept killing the tornado in Crossbone Isle. :)

It takes a loooong time to train so be ready to devote most of your spare time to it. ;) It took me at least two months (100 hrs. total gameplay) to get my guys to lv. 99.

I know, there's no easy way to get levels in GS1, I have a hard time getting to lv. 45. That's a lot of devotion to GS.

I am around level 45 with Felix, Isaac is 43, Jenna is 42 and Ivan is level 41. Those are my main guys. Sometimes I use Piers instead of Isaac.

When I'm leveling up I usually put the person closest to leveling up at the lowest level first and then slowly go higher until you get to the guy with the highest level and the most experience away from the next level. Sound confusing? It isn't. And it's a great way to keep your team even.

What do you mean? What levels you should be at each area? Or are you talking about classes?

There isn't really a time where you can change your classes in the best. Just get all Djinn and give them to your characters. You can even do this at level 10 is you want to. You can also freely change your class when your level 99... o.o

Felix is at 15, Sheba is at 14, Jenna is at 15 and Piers is at 18.

And each person has 2 Djinn. :P
