Please post all submissions for the GSW Map Contest in this thread.
Each user can post as many maps as they wish, but please use your best judgement and restrain yourself from posting many poor-quality maps instead of fewer high-quality maps.
There is to be NO posts in this topic except for submissions. If you would like to update a submission post, then please use the edit button and do not create a duplicate/updated post.
For each submission, please post a short description of the map, specifying what each building might be and any special things you want us to notice or think about.

Well, here's mine. I couldn't ever get the words to associate themselves with the NPCs, but it should be easy to figure out(dead guy sunbathing, husband and wife guarding town from highest point, healer not healing, outdoors hotel guy and chef, old woman bargaining with shop keeper, other shop keeper "whataya want?" and old guy in hills commenting on cozyness). All the buildings are up for whatever you want them to be, except the ones in the caves are supposed to all be pretty much the same thing, whatever they are. Like houses, or chat rooms. Also, you should be able to sleep at the stargazing hotel.
Edit:Gohan Duo, the same goes for yours. I think its just normal, and the only way to view it is through downloading it. yours said:
"XML Parsing Error: not well-formed

Line Number 2471, Column 88:"
so yeah. I'll check yours if you check mine(downloading)...
end edit!
EDIT AGAIn:
Gohan Duo, yours works fine if I "right click save target as" it, so try that with mine and see if it works...or anyone who is going to make a post about submitting a game.
end edit.
I don't know how you want it, so here it is as an XML...
Also, here's an image of it...slightly updated from last time...

Well, here's mine. I made some
alterations and this is how it looks.
I also had the save problem, and the speech lines kept on disappearing. :P
There are 9 people and 6 houses: an inn, a store,a chathouse (bottom right), the woodcutter's house (near the chopped trees), an empty house, the sanctum (upper right). At the top of the map, there is a stone with a sword in it. But you'll probably wont get it out because that's too complicated.

And mine. I thought I had the speech working but it's screwed up anyway. The speech is saved in the xml file, but the editor doesn't recognise it :P.
here's an image:

top - chathouse + inn (same building, this might have to change though)
top right: help house (run by old people :D)
right: store
botom: random house
left: casino + minigames
top left: bank
Points of interest:
Large area in the centre for talking. The 'spawn' site in the centre is also close to all the buildings.
the table and stuff in the bottom right. I thought it would be an interesting addition ;). A gathering point of sorts.
And here's the xml:

My second map!
Green Desert:
It consists of these people:
two shop keepers
a man who is afraid of cactii
a girl who can't climb on the rocks
some nice lady watching the world go by from atop the town
a guy who is selling boxes outside a shop...ok, not really. They aren't his boxes actually
a kid who thinks the well water tastes like Kool aid
Town history:
Its a small town, far off in the last reaches of the land. It's like the warm version of Prox, but in a very dry area, almost a desert, but still humid enough to have grass growing in it. All the houses are built like basements underground to keep cool under the extreme heats the town gets.

Jason, your innovative and unique map has inspired me to make one last map, a mix between an old abandoned forest and a lively village. It uses some of the ideas you had, but this one is quite a bit more active. It has a building built into the side of the mountain, which has a ghost hotel at the top. There is also a huge plaza filled with shops in the middle of the town, along with a small chat house and a game house. One old woman stays at the edge of town because she likes the quiet, but few go into the old graveyard, and none travel as far into the forest as the old well or ancient ceremonial grounds, a place still present from the time of Alchemy. A scholar has come to the town to research this, but he wants to take his time enjoying the town before begining studies.

I know this topic is OLD, but I'm wondering what became of this competition.
What are you going to do with the maps, if anything? Last I heard you were making your own maps still, with (possibly) ideas taken from ours. There was never any real post about this stuff though :\.
EDIT: ack, just realised this was the submission topic. Oh well, it's about time this topic was locked or deleted anyway.
