Kids And Computers "Jimmy! You've been on the PC all day!"

What do you think about that? It sorta worries me. Realize that kids eventually grow up and get jobs and stuff, and if all they knew how to do was create a roller coaster on RollerCoater Tycoon, well, we'd perish. =P
Myself, I do spend a good 80% of my free time on the comp, but I do other stuff too. If my comp disappeared, I would have alot of time on my hands, but I do have other hobbies and stuff that I do. ^_^
Could you live without your comp/does it really concern you about the whole kids and their comps deal?

I'm pretty sure getting a career designing roller coasters requires more experience than playing Roller Coaster Tycoon. ^_^

I sometimes wish I had never gotten so attached to the computer though o.o; I'd have so much free time to do other stuff. I think I'd even be closer to my family. But merf.

If I had to go for for >2weeks without a computer, I would develope a twitch.
I have too much stuff to do on this computer; MSN, website (however small), forums, news, programming, graphics, etc.

even though i use the comp a lot to talk to my friends on weekdays and play online rpgs with them (no, my real friends)
but even if i didn't have a computer, i still have friends to do other things. Life would just be a bit harder but i'd still be happy i'd be able to spend more time with my friends outside than in :3

I type. A lot.
And so, typing is kind of a habit and, it makes me un-easy when I haven't typed. And I get all hyper and start playing around with lots of things, just to make sure that my fingers are moving. D: It's like a pianist without his piano.

I spend around 70-80 percent of my free time on a computer. The other percent is doing active stuff.

Checking e-mail, visiting the forums, reading up on tech websites, gaming news and reviews...
Mostly my time on the net. I'll occasionally play a little online chess when I'm bored (don't get me wrong here, it can be a surprsingly effective way to pass the time).
And yes, that means with the exception of Counter-Strike, and demoes of Battlefield 2 and F.E.A.R., I rarely play computer games.
Obviously, when school comes around, I get more into the online research, and I start chatting with my friends a lot more.
I remember an incident when I went online for like six hours straight... I just wouldn't stop. And then, (after my parents insisted for the hundredth time), I went off the computer. My mom asked me something and when she looked at me, she freaked because my eyes were twitching, my face was pale and stuff, lol.
Very amusing incident, I remember it well. :)

I myself can go for about five days without a computer, unless I'm working on something really important. I do spend most of my free time on the computer, but I do do other things with my friends. For instance, yesterday I went to a Halo party at my friends house that went from 11 AM to midnight.

1. All contact with my awesome friend Jess in Conneticuit (sp?) and Iori in Puerto Rico would be looooost. >.<
2. Morrowind.
3. MY ENTIRE MUSIC COLLECTION IS ON HERE. *clings* I'd cry if I lost it. Seriously. last year my old PC buggered up and my dad had to format it. I actually cried because I lost all my music.
Then we found out the PC was too buggered to even format and my music wasn't deleted. Quickly filled up 7 700MB CDs up to capacity with MP3 data. DIDN'T LOSE IT YEY. *happy dance*
But I'm not obsessed with my PC. I don't have to go on it everyday. Indeed, it's impossible for me to go on it everyday: my PC is at my Dad's. I live with my mum.
Do the math. xD

I get a little grumpy after a couple days without my computer...I use it for when I'm really bored. Which is a lot.

Anyways, I can live without it. There are people I like to talk to whom I can only reach via the computer, and also there's the sprites factor. That's probably what keeps me on. That and a few note documents with my plannign and ideas for projects.

I'm kidding, I dont' watch TV that much. I can probably live with out it, it's only materialism after all. Theres always the other old fashioned way to communicate, back when they dont' have computers around 20 years ago - PHONES.
But still, computer is a nice add-on.

I do other stuff too, I don't mean to make myself out to be a loner or anything, but I do spend a respectable amount of time in front of the TV and the computer.
