Anyone here play Battlefield 2? It was recently released for PC, and is a "sequel" to Battlefield 1942. The focus of the game is on online play, and it's definitely a very fun play. It's realistic gameplay wise, but isn't so realistic that it becomes a full blown sim where you can die in a couple of hits.
I've been having lots of fun playing the demo, and you can download it free from the BF2 site. Anyone else play this game? (Note: System requirements are quite steep)

This morning, I just saw an old review for Battlefield 1942 on G4. The game looked pretty good, and i'm interested in playing it. Reminds me of Medal of Honor.

yeah, I've got that game, it's way fun but you shouldn't use the single player option. That's boring, but it's fun online.
And btw about realistic, it's not that bad, one or two little mistakes but apart from that

I've screwed around single player a few times. I wish there were some servers where there were no vehicles, or at least air vehicles. There's so much cheap whoring, where a heli will pop down right in front of you and simply fire a crap load of missiles.
Not to mention that I'll hit a guy 5 times in the head with an AR and get shot once and die :agitated:

You can fly planes in that game? I thought the most you could do was drive around and cause unlimited destruction in a tank.

I downloaded it...then realized my PC can't even start the program >_<
But everyone loves it. It's a hit at CtrAltDel and 8bit theatre.

Your video card probably fried and your CPU sent out an SOS :o
I'm holding off on buying the full version, because apparently, the server browser and servers themselves are very laggy (which seems to not be a problem on the demo). And THEN, EA released a patch which actually caused a security flaw.
So, yup, still playing the demo XP
btw, I did my best ever last couple days, second place twice with 20ish kills, first place once with 25 kills or so ;)

I've played the demo of Battlefield 2, and I've enjoyed it. I especially love how you can drive around in verhicles, especially that cool little buggy transport... thing.
Nice graphics, for the most part plays smoothly.

Yea I've played it. I loved the orginal with all the mods and stuff but you can tell how much effort they put into this one.
Favourite class is special forces, anti tank and sniper.
I love all the effort they put into it, with the whole spawning on squad leaders and such.
