    Seriously.

Really, these "ghost" users are gettin creepy and are poping up more then they apperantly should be. Which I believe should be never. Does anyone have a clue what these might be?

    It's me! Yay!

Maybe these ghost guys are actually guests? That's why they don't have names?

They aren't guests. After I took the pic, I went and chose Regisered only, and they poped up.

Edit: Pfff. One of them left.

I've seen the weird Guest phenomenon happened occaisonally, they are usually google, but for ghost members, I have no idea.

I think it is members who do not wish for others to read that they are logged in.

Nick and I looked into this issue the other day. The problem of an unrealistic number of guests appearing on the forum is a result of a bug in the forum software that does not properly recognize the Yahoo Search Spider (which indexes the forums so you can search for stuff from Yahoo.com), and thus reports a new guest every time the spider goes to a new page.

There isn't anything we can really do about this but wait until the new version of IPB (our forum software). Just ignore it for now.

Oh, I was starting to think it was a glitch that happened every once in a while.

Yeah, that sounds about right, since it's kinda like with Google's Image Search engine, only different.

People in Firefox with more than one tab open?

Well, then shouldn't I appear ghost-like too? Plus, if there were two open, the last one you click would update where you are.

It has nothing to do with tabs open and whatnot. It has to do with the way Yahoo Search Spider indexes the pages on this forum. We really can't do anything about it.

As has been said, Yahoo Search Spider and Google SearchBot, I've seen the Google SearchBot alot though.

And don't blame Firefox. Firefox is perfect. Blame IE.
