I love this game, you could find me on www.l2extreme.com (free :P, i didn't want to pay for it). Try it, fantastic MMORPG, in some aspects even better than WoW.

www.l2extreme.com is down for maintenance entirely, but, when it's back up again just click on a button that says "U.S. Mirror". That's what I did.

Download Lineage 2 Chronicle 3, install it, start it and let it update from official server. Then download update from L2 Extreme, install it, create account and you can play ^_^

It's 3D same way as WoW and i personally consider it better game. In Korea it's more popular than breathing ^_^
1/3 of Koreans play it and worldwide it has even more players than World of Warcraft.

Okay, I've got my account activated, downloaded all the necessary stuffs, and I've got the game working.

So far, I've created (on the Tempest server):

WindDudette, Female Elf Fighter (lvl 5)
DarkDudette, Female Dark Elf Fighter (lvl 3)

Yeah, I prefer playing as females. :P I'm a guy, okay?

And the beginning clothes for Dark Elf females are down right embarrassing... note that I hadn't played with her as much. :P

Yes, you create characters like you do on MS. This is just the way you create characters in MMORPGS. =/

You can only create the characters after you get the game running. Yeah, you have to download it.

I like this game so far, the visuals look great. If you're still addicted to Maple Story, you haven't even experienced the way MMORPGs should be played until you try a 3D one. No offense to Maple Story... :P

One thing though, I was zoomed in on my Dark elf, and playing around with the social interactions (cheering, clapping, etc.) when I saw something that both startled and confused me...

Her boobs bounced when she moved. o.o;

I hadn't noticed this before because I never really zoomed in on my character much (mostly because her outfit was so erky). I quickly switched to my non-Dark Elf to see if she had the same effect, but nope, she didn't. Weird, guess it's only on Dark Elves. Right now I can imagine the lonely, fat Korean, his eyes glued on the monitor as he designs the animations and models of the Female Dark Elves... :P Blah, this is why I don't like fantasy games as much as I used to.

I downloaded the patchlight one, took ages for the files to download or whatever, but i nearly had the final one done, took about 45 min and my dad did a virus check and canceled the download! I'm doing it again now.

Yes, they set themselves automatically. It depends on your class.

BTW i'm moving to Tempest to play with you people. I'll post the name of character in a while.

It's no problem, you will level up very fast. Titan has all rates 35x and Tempest only 7x

No, if you payed attention to Gardna's first post for the topic, Lineage 2 is free at l2xtreme.com. ;)

And, no Zxor, it doesn't matter what sex you choose for your accounts. (there are two accounts, a forum account and a game account, both are required to play) You can choose to be either sex when you create your characters. :P

From what you said I'm guessing you've never played a REAL MMORPG...

There should be a little tutorial thingy at the beginning, just do what it says and it'll tell you how to do everything.

For the record, everything is done by clicking, but if you have a gamepad like moi you can also control your movements and camera with it. It also makes combat a little easier with a gamepad because 4 of your equipment/skills can be hot keyed onto the gamepad's buttons.

I was playing with the office computer. I'm actually not too sure if I actually downloaded it correctly. I've downloaded two things that appeared in My Documents: "L2_C3_Installer" and "PatchLight1.3". I'm not too sure what to do there o.o

Go to the ability section, then click the ability you want and drag it over to the bar with the f1-f12 on it. Put it on whichever f# you want, and click that f# and you will use it.

I bought some more armor for my elf. I still need to get 170000 Adena to buy the better weapons, since my Gladius is still a great weapon. It's actually pretty easy to gain money in this game, it's easier to upgrade my character with items and skills.

Lineage II is rather irritating. At least one server is down all the time, and it lags too much. Every time I play on a server, I'm only on for 20 minutes when it goes down. So I have to go to a new server, and the same thing happens after 20 minutes. I guess it's not a good idea using up 5.5 gigs for this >.<

Not really... I never get kicked off except on Titan. Have you at least tried Tempest?

Also keep in mind that maybe your connection just sucks, and that L2eXtreme has been going through changes (I think).

Apparently, I don't have the memory card that's capable of playing L2. And right now, we cannot afford a new one that is actually compatable.

I'm currently cycling through all the MMORPGs I've found on Google. I'm currently downloading one called Conquest, which looks kinda like Maple Story in a 3D perspective.

Though, I'm afraid that the name strikes a bell or two, and I believe it was a game I read about somewhere that was seen as pretty mediocre.

Indeed, I was playing on the official one. It went slow as hell there, but still I managed to get lvl 62, with the best armor and almost best weapon there was. There are only about 20 people with that armor and even less with that weapon, so I guess I did quite good. But I won't go playing in l2eXtreme, since it's not fun when it goes too fast.

But you know, I don't have time for level crunching like in Maple Story, which is why it's fun to play L2eXtreme. I just whack a couple monsters for 30 minutes, gain some EXP and a level or two, and I'm done.

But the advantage of the official server over the L2eXtreme is that in the official one there is a large amount of quests. Maybe those are also in the eXtreme one but nobody does them since it gives less exp then a monster.

That's true, but you can get some very interesting items by doing quests.
