Not that anyone cares but, I can't do content for any game on a console unless there are working Emulators and ROMs for it. I don't have any consoles, I only have a GBA(s) and a DS.

Wind Dude, that topic was already discussed in the brainstorming topic. Look back through the posts to see the discussion between Anubis and I regarding getting content for different systems.

Hrm, I must've been skimming then.

So anyway, is this going to be poll-only or what? Not much is being discussed here other than my ignorance. =P

Anyhow I voted AW. After seeing the lack of decent fansites for it even though it's technically one of the best games on the GBA not to mention the best Turn-Based Strategy title for the GBA/DS I think we could really get this going especially since the DS hasn't been out for long so there should be alot of 'fresh' fanboys for us to kidnap and take to our hopefully-soon-to-be-fansite assuming it gets the top vote.

It should be a game that we know will have a good future ahead of it. Don't want to make the same mistake twice. It should also be a game that's new. Last time I checked TOS is one and a half years old. it's should also be a game with lot's of depth in it. Something everyone can talk about. So far all most of those games don't seem to make the cut.

I think the new FE game(Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance) to hit the GC would be an appropriate choice. It's new and the fan base is now way up there and is still rising plus it has tons of depth for much to be discussed upon.

That's not for sure. Capcom have announced an RPG for the Revolution..

My vote is for AW. Partly because I suggest. But also, as said before, there's a lack of good fansites for it.

Fire Emblem sites are out there, lots of them. Infact you advertise one yourself as far as I know which is the irony. As for ToS, there's also going to be ToE for the PSP so I'm sure it has sequal if you decided to choose that. Sadly I've never played ToS but I look forward to buy ToE since I need a decent RPG for my PSP.

Well... I'm not a fan of any of these games and the only one I've actually played is Advance Wars. But I'm thinking of getting Baten Kaitos maybe one day so I guess I'll vote for that... Actually, I won't vote for any game, as I don't think you want some guy who doesn't know the first thing about these games voting. Sorry for waisting your time guys! =P

GTA isn't such a bad idea...but anyway, I voted AW. That game is soooooo addictive, that up till now, I still play the first one. Its a turn based game that anyone can enjoy, and since their still making AW games, it would be a great forum to have.

GTA is an awful idea. It attracts the wrong kind of people (un-educated morons) and there are tons of fansites for it already. Plus the series is way too big, it'l take a long time to cover all the games in it.

I still think the FE game for the GC would be the best choice but if I had to choose from the list above I would say Advance Wars for the DS. I have yet to pick up the DS and I doubt I ever will.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance would have been a great choice. I would love to do a site for that game if anybody wants it.

Anyways, as for my vote, I voted for Tales of Symphonia/Eternia because I might be able to help with material for those games.

But we should consider FE: PoR.

To series should be the second series considered... But then I guess a poll without Advance Wars is reccomended IMO to see what the people thing again, so those who voted for AW can help select the second fansite.

Should we make both sites at the same time, e.g. one team works on Advance Wars while the other team works on Animal Crossing, or should we do this one at a time?

I'm still rooting for Animal Crossing, the games just look so... complete. B)

EDIT: By the way, should we really make a site for FE: PoR when we're already going to do Advance Wars? I mean, they're both strategy games, maybe we should actually do an actual RPG this time?

What I suggest is that those who suggested another game prepare content in the mean time so that when their fansite comes around it will be easier for the site and you assuming you're not making content for the *main* site.

People, put your fanboy instincts behind you. Don't think of series' that you love, but series' you think will be the most succesful compared to the others listed. I would love Baten Kaitos to have won but oh well, but when I think about it AW has more to offer considering it's more well-known but still has no decent fansites.

Before you start *****ing about what fansite you would prefer over AW. Ask yourself what way is it better than the AW series? What makes it good enough to be used instead of AW?

Also, there is no point starting a vote for our next site now. No need to rush, we need to take this slowly and think carefully before making each move otherwise we will put alot of effort into this just to see it flop. We must always make the BEST decisions for everything, not just good decisions. We will vote for the next site AFTER we complete the first, until then there will be new games, new opinions and less to worry about.

                                              I voted S(W)oM.

It's a great RPG series and I have a passion for it.

AW gets my vote since I think we should stick to handheld games instead of venturing into console games and such. I picked up SOM a while back and though I thought the story line was entertaining but the game quickly got repetitive and boring. I felt the same way with GS and GSTLA.

There is already a large AW Fansite called advancewarsnet.com, which has all the sprites + info etc, and a section for making custom COs.

I vote AW anyway though. I can certainley help with content etc (after my exams)

Doesn't come up on Google, though... so it must not be popular.

I agree that we should stick to handheld games, it seems like that is the best idea. So what about Breath of Fire? Those games were pretty enjoyable.

They may be popular but their fansite looks like ****. Not to mention we can appear on google and attract more people than they do in the long run. As for sprites and such, content is just a matter of time, not skill. Whatever they have in the form of content we can get just as easily, even more infact. Max is good at coding things that seem useless but turn out cool, so if he felt like it (which he won't) he can create a doomsday machine that can nuke the country that has the server for their website, or something like that. You get the idea, in other words we can pwn their site if we put the right ammount of effort into it.

I got some nice tips for certain maps which I feel I might be able to write content for, nothing definate as of yet of course. I want to quickly finish AW1 and move onto AWII, and finally AWDS. I get the feeling that most people will focus on AWDS, so I'm doing the opposite and starting from the old so we have both sides covered, hopefully.

Fire Emblem is much better I think, although it's not on the list I think it would be best. Since Golden Sun and Fire Emblem attract the same kind of people...

My vote goes to Tales of Symphonia since it's much more similar, and equally enjoyable to me...after trying AW and FE, neither compared to GS for me.

ToS is closer, and FE is another good idea that isn't on the poll. They both have similar fans of those who play GS.

You can post strategies, and secrets that you have found in the game. And for AW:DS, mabey even skill setups with CO's.

Win win, right? Heck, I don't know if this game is even out yet, but it's worth looking in to for the community.

Recently checked out ToE, ToL, ToS etc. and they are pretty decent games above average quality. But that's not the problem, the problem is my own website is growing bigger and bigger day by day and as you can see I barely have any time left to post on here let alone lead such a big project. I'm buried in so much crap I even had to cancel our E360 project so unless someone else wants to lead this it will have to be put on "hold" until we can find someone.

If it's AW, I can do strategies. Soon, hopefully, I'll be able to help make the actual site. I'm just finishing learning all the stuff.

And if all goes well, before the end of November. WD is working on content at the moment, and the skin and banner are done. Right now, I'm getting the rest of the pages in, and ready to be filled, and trying to get the CSS file working, along with getting PHP in there as well. It might be a little while.

I would like to get a preview of what you have so far, and I will have to audit all of your PHP code to make sure it is secure. We've had problems in the past with insecure PHP scripts at GS Adept's Refuge (which used to be hosted by GSS), and I never want to go through that experience again.
