[Answered]Moved Topics

If a topic is originally in, say, the artwork forum, and it rants about how good laser tag is, it would probably be moved to the Common Room, right? What if you had already posted in that topic and accumulated points toward their forum rank? If the topic is moved to the Common Room, where posts do not count towards your total, would you lose those points?
And visa-versa?

I'm not sure but I think it depends on the forum you actually posted in. Like for example a topic was originally in the Common Room, when moved you will not be allocated post count after moving.

Same principle instead you acquire post count cause you posted in an area where there's post counting.

The posts will be taken away when the post counts are recounted, IIRC.

If I recall correctly.
There goes someone contradicting my theory oh well. I don't know then.

I believe you are both correct, in a sense... the post count considers where the topic was, i.e. if it was in the Artwork forum, and it was moved to the Common Room, you wouldn't lose a post count immediately (it would still count), until, as Nick said, the posts are recounted...
So in other words, I'm assuming, the posts would count temporarily, if that makes sense.

I can't say for certain myself, Max and Nick would be able to answer that... but certainly, I'd expect that when there is a sudden resurgance of activity on the forums, as a result of GSW or the new site that will be hosted under GSS, a post count would be necessary.

*adds IIRC to list of abbreviations*
My question is answered, unless anyone else has something to say, you can close this.
