They just released the box art a day or so ago, so I figured I'd start the topic on this one. I know that I'll be adding it to my list, more action and better online than Mario Kart DS(since they have more experience now) and it's even got some rumors of voice chat, even if only in the lobby when waiting for more players and settings to be set. That itself, would be more awesome than all get out.

I personally think it shows what Metroid could have been like on the N64...which would have been just awesome. The character selection will be helpful if balanced, and no worries about snaking in this one! ;)

I know I'm picking up a copy, no matter what. How about you guys?

Meh, I have my doubts about FPS's on the DS, all the recent ones haven't gotten good reviews, but since it's going to be WiFi, I might get it.

What other ones are there for the DS? GoldenEye: Rogue Agent? It lacked in many areas that Metroid Prime: Hunters seems to excel in.

On that note, I am really excited about it. I plan on purchasing my Nintendo DS along with Metroid Prime: Hunters, especially for the Wi-Fi capabilities. And I'm rather curious to see how the six new bounty hunters will play out.

I hope they come out with a Red and Orange DS, as they did the red DS with Mario Kart, for Hunters, when it releases.

But yeah, I really hope CTF makes it into MP:H, else there are gonna be a lotta unhappy campers <_<

Update: Just a week left til release in the USA, and today it was announced that MPH would arrive in Europe on May 5th, right around the time of New Super Mario Bros in the USA.

Like I said before, this game seems too dark on the demo. In brightly lit areas, it was hard to decipher environments.

Of course, the game has undergone tremendous changes since First Hunt. I wouldn't judge the final game based on what you may have played in the demo.

Well, remember, there is a single-player adventure in Metroid Prime Hunters, which was quoted to be just as deep as the Metroid Prime games for GameCube.

Everyone's been entirely focused on the multiplayer, and especially with the addition of Wi-Fi and the lobby voice chat, but don't forget about the single-player story mode.

Is there any info on whether they will have the lock-on in multiplayer mode? Because the lock-on ruined the multiplayer in MP2 for me.

Well, I personally thought the multiplayer in Echoes was pretty good, if undeveloped, and the lock-on was just a characteristic of the Metroid Prime games.

As far as I know, aiming is done with the DS touch screen, so there is no actual lock-on in multiplayer. However (and I'll check this for you), there may be "special" weapons or items that might enable this, but they'd be only temporary effects.

Well duh. :P I'm just tired of hearing "OMFG WiFi!!".

I played multiplayer in the free demo of Metroid. It was a lot of fun, and it was also easy to beat everyone else up too. :( I hope that they fix those cruddy "ball" controls though. I didn't like controlling Samus in ball form with the touch screen, but I always accidentally activated boost all the time when trying to turn slightly with the D-Pad.

Couldn't you just press L or something while facing the right direction to lock on? There's still a possibility.

Dang this thing is fun. Single player feels a little slow since you get things, but so far, nothing's affected how I play the game, and I'm already to my second space co-ordinates. I did unlock two characters though, somehow, one by beating and the other by...existing on their planet? I dunno. Anyways, I played multiplayer, and geeze, these matches are really close. Nintendo isn't having as bad of down time on WFC as usual launch days/Christmas, but there's still some, so don't expect nonstop gameplay through a dozen matches, but you'll certainly get the chance to play once at the very very least.

I watched a couple of videos for the online multiplayer. Looks just as, if not more addicting, than Halo. :P

It's fun, but the random one seems to always go with Deathmatch mode. Then again, I haven't been in a four player match before, just 2s and 3s. I have everyone but Trace now, and all of a sudden Story mode has picked up, just as soon as they hand me the reins instead of sending me down a narrow path. This game is looking better with every step I make.

Seems like some reviewers aren't crazy about this game. The controls seem to be the issue. Is anyone having problems mastering this new control scheme?

What reviews are you looking at? Gamespot liked the controls alot, and IGN defended the controls for Metroid as well (to a lesser extent). I liked the controls in the demo, myself.

Hard, and I mean HARD learning curve, but after you're 1/3 of the way through the game? You really start to kick ass with it all of a sudden. Definately worth the work, because it's hecka effective.

The multiplayer looks incredible, and this game is the perfect example of why Nintendo should have had online play before now. They've executed it seamlessly on the DS, which will most likely carry over onto the Revolution. They missed out on so much opportunity on the Gamecube.

If I get a DS(which I might in about 5 months) I will most probably get this game after a while. Sounds quite good. The only thing I don't like about it is that only 4 people can play in multiplayer, but they couldn't add more...

Anyway, a question not related to this game: What kind of internet do you guys have? I mean, do you actually NEED Wi-Fi net to play DS games using the BroadBand Adapter or can I use some other type?

You need broadband. As long as you have a Windows in the house( maybe a Linux) then you can buy the wifi dongle of Nintendo's for $35, and that'll work everything out.

Yeah, there is another for the GBA called More Friends of Mineral Town. It's totaly the same as the other, except you're a girl and you hit on to guys.

There is a DS Harvest Moon in the making. No idea when it'll be released though...

AM: Yea it's a really good game, the wifi adds so much to it.

Yea, i was playing that Ice dude a couple of nights ago, he just froze everyone then pulled out the red sniper, so ***.

Although I must admit my favourite person is Weavel, because of his alt-form.

Just read and bone up on yours skills, admittingly I just realised that having the affinity weapon with the right charcter gives a special power. I was wondering why Trace didn't absorb health with the shock coil while Sylux did...

Does anyone still play this? Cos my router got fixed and it seems everyone online is...good :). I've noticed an increase in people going Samus, Trace and really people love Sylux. It's enough when 3/4 players are sylux!

Exactly! I got put up with a level 5 guuy that had a gold background to him. Yeah, no match whats so ever. When I get back from my grand parents I'll post my friend code for everyone.
