    hihihihihihi

I started another topic cuz..I was SERIOUSLY bored today. And instead using study leave to study, I decided to draw instead (whoohoo!)

I haven't drawn random stuff in AGES, just the boring artist research stuff for art coursework. Maybe once I get my art stuff back in october i'll show stuff in there..maybe...possibly.

ANYWAY, I drew this today becuz I miss playing games :(

WD should know who this is btw ;P

    so without further adieu :D

    http://img371.images...imporved6tw.png

it's not shaded or anything because after my exams (16th June oh yeh) i want to CG it, cuz i'm too lazy to do so now. :)

Oh yeh this took about an hour coz the pose was a biznatch to get right :)

Oh and off topic, any of you people doing GCSEs right now, good luck :) horrid things they are

Wow. And I thought I was a good artist. I prefer to draw cars and such, but I NEVER get it looking as good and detailed as that.

It's the Shizzle. I mean, I can draw detail well and such, but I'm rubbish at getting everything in proportion (especially humans -it doesn't really matter with monsters really) but you've managed it brilliantly.

One slight criticism if you'll take it, Is she meant to be holding the sword in her left hand, or is it hanging from her belt? It just looks a bit awkward if shes holding it.

@ wifle yup she's holding it. It does look a bit weird but the character does carry two swords and...that sword is cooler so I wanted to draw it >P

@ icy, somia and whoever else

Okay this is my chance to act all intelligent and..stuff. A rare moment :)

                  :)

what I believe to be the key to making a good manga image, is learning to draw from real life. I spent a good few months trying to learn the human anatomy (partly because of school) to get better. here is an example of my past work-

                  http://img47.imagesh...e00663wu8km.png

It looks okay, but there are mistakes in the anatomy and the face structure. here's a line art to demonstrate this.

                  http://img47.imagesh...tomycopy4up.png

anyway back to facial structure. It's no good if you decorate and ornament a face if the basics aren't right. It will still look wrong. So yeh another pic demonstrating this (MEROKO!)

                  http://img47.imagesh...e=facial5ca.png

see in the bottom pic, the eyes are nice but in the wrong position, therefore does not look as good as the first picture.

                  Anyway yeh I think that's all x X hope that helps :(

oh and I want to finish off some of my stuff I started-

                  1) GSSF interviewing comic thing (god that's old ><)
                  2) any requests
                  3) the other comic I started
                  4) and anything else I can think of :D

Oh you use those, I've never tried them, cause I think they make the drawing look messy in the beginning and I can't stand that. Maybe when I get my tablet i'll try those out.

Ah no no no. I find them too "constricting" to work with. I was using them to demonstrate a point :)

I sometimes add a line to know where the centre is but even that's hardly used

Doubly post coz I have artwork

don't hiss and moan I know it's the same day but...

once again procrastinating from revision I decided to see how good paintshop is as opposed to photoshop.

Well...photoshop pwns paintshop :) but it was still fun. You just don't have many options or capabilities :(

I tried CGing the previous image...isn't very good, but meh, experimentations rule

sorta :P I could do better given more time and photoshop

this took about...30 minutes (only the head so that's why ;P)

                        http://imageshack.in/img1/58774397.bmp

the main problem with it is that I didn't have the original scan file so I had to work with the sized down image. Sized down image = not good for CGing. infact, NEVER good, as you can't go into details.

plus I can't enhance or clean up scans as well with paintshop so yeh, the lines are fscked up.

Now why didn't I use photoshop instead? well, photoshop is being a bad lilttle boy and it doesn't seem to work. I'm too lazy to figure out what's wrong

Bad, bad, kiku... Aribeth's boobs are bigger than that!!

But, with that serious flaw aside, it's quite good. I like the way you made the sword and the gear especially, and the hair is awesome. Along with everything else you made.

@ WD- you perv... nah jk but I wanted to err, emplhasise that she's a warrior and not a hot chika

                            yeh...that's my excuse >> ;P

                            Anyway

Found this picture ages ago. And yes it does fit into the title topic because I did this whilst procrastinating for my mocks in January ;) Its a talent I tell ya! Anyway here is the original.

                            http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/98/thee...etmisery2fi.png

I thought the proportions were a bit off. So I looked at it ( I know, getting very technical here, LOOKING :oO) and realised she hasn’t got wide enough hips. Now that’s sacreligious. A girl without hips?! :D so anyway I fixed it.

                            http://img427.images...tmisery20vj.png

here’s a negetive version. Looks cool that’s all.
                            http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/5678/sw...negative4wt.png

And then again I found another little tool on paintshop which makes everything look more smooth so I used it.

                            http://img330.imageshack.us/img330/521/swe...y2smooth7yr.png

and again negetified :D It looks eerie

                            http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8527/sw...negative8la.png

I think both images give different effects but I dunno which one was better, the smooth or the rough edged :/ so I posted both ;P

Comments plox :) I want to improve after all :o

PS no I'm not going to show my full name here ;P and that is a new signature I scrawled there. I have three aliases, kik (old) , mitz and mireme :) so i went with the m motif here :D

EDIT- this aint my character, it's miho tohya from Megatokyo ( you all know I'm an MT nut :) and I drew it on a lined notepad...sorry about that :(

I like "smooth" best. The negative effect goes too emo, but it feels like it's night with like a lightning storm or something that makes a glow on the chick.

Anyway, I like the pose of the arms. :O Good perspective and all that.
