Whenever you do something like edit a post, search for a topic or send a PM, you get this silly little message telling you what you just did and to wait 5 seconds for the message to disappear. Why are they there? It's just plain dumb.
Unless you have a reasonable explanation?

'waiting' Messages Remove them, they're pointless!

Is it really that much of a problem? It's just something that Invision does with their boards! It's not something we can change, and it's something that everyone else gets used to.

Eh, I just don't get why they're there if you can just "Or click here if you do not wish to wait."
But it doesn't bother me.

Oh no, 5 seconds of your precious existance wasted. How terrible.
Its just more of an incentive to post properly.

Yeah, they do seem a bit usuless now that I think about it, but they don't bother me at all. I don't really care if they're there or not.

I dunno, they aren't that big a deal. Its not like Chuck Norris came and stole your house or something.

It does seem kind of patronizing when a screen come up that says "you just put up a post!" but it's not that much of an inconvenience. That pause could just be a blank screen with stuff popping up as it loads like on other sites. Either way, you're not getting those wasted moments back. It's the price we pay for spending our lives on the net.

I beleive it is flood control, to ease the stress on the database. It isn't the end of the world, Split. You can just click the link at the bottom of the dialog box if you don't wish to wait.

The reason is so that when you hit the back button, you don't get prompted by your browser asking if you want to resubmit the form information. There is always a reason for such apparently "silly" things, and this is one of them. It is a programming/logistics issue, and that type of page is the easier and most common solution. Almost every major forum system uses those kinds of pages for various tasks.
Alas, it cannot be removed, nor should it.
