Wouldn't it be nice if we could edit our names? Instead of me always being like isaac2112 i could change it to like Zoso or something. The original names would still be our user i.d. but it would be cool to have an option to change our names.

There has already been a discussion regarding this matter. There would be too much confusion if we allow members to change their usernames freely. Also, the spammers might take advantage of that priviledge.

Having a cool name isn't all that important, what is important is other members remembering who you are once they see you, something they may not be able to do if you change your name.

However, it is being considered that members might be allowed name changes, but each change would have to be approved by the moderating staff. Nothing done yet, though.

Mhm. Without staff approval, name changes could be abused to death. I mean, no one wants to see themselves being flamed by someone everytime he/she posts, constructive or no.

Anubis claimed to have a talk with Max about it last week. He told me that it was likely we would be able to... someday. I PMed Max about yesterday, actually.

The deal is this: we are willing to change people's usernames, but only if they provide a compelling reason other than "I want to try something new" or "I'm tired of this name." A username is just a way for people to identify you, and it doesn't really matter if can't keep all your aliases in sync between websites or anything like that. So if you want your name changed, PM me or Nick with a good explanation and we will consider it.

Yes. I'm perfectly fine with name changes and have changed one members username before.

If you have a legit reason for a name change, PM me and I will consider it.

You ask the strangest questions. I'd guess that Anubis's had something to do with his clan, and Sibsags had something to do with his Myspace, but N1P and Max said they didn't care about whether that stuff matched, so that can't be it.

sibsq's reason might be that many people get his old name wrong and say 'sibsag', with a g. As for Nemphtis I have no idea...

                                  I hate you so much.
