Airport Security How much worse can it get?

It only got worse after an attempted shoe bomber almost exploded a plane, causing security to increase. Now, after the events in London, no liquids and gels will be allowed on flights.
My question is, how much worse can this get? My opinion is that it will eventually come to the fact that no carry-on luggage will be allowed on flights.
But what do you think?

It really has gotten alot worse.
I agree with PS there though, it's really hard to prevent it, but sometimes they are careless.

I was traveling by plane when there was terrorist scare in Atlanta airport. No one could board until the security guards patted us down... and when I say patted down, I mean they really went all out. It was... uncomfortable to say the least. :P
It turned out that the entire threat was left from an unattended bag, a child's mind you.
I'd imagine since they have caught (supposedly) an actual terror plot, banning liquids on board is only the first step.

Last year, a couple months before our GCSE exams, my friend Nic went on holiday to Austria. Because it was so close to our exams, she took some Maths revision stuff with her, including her calculator. What did the airport security do?
Took her calculator away, and actually took it to pieces to "check for anything suspicious".
For God's sake! This was a skinny, short, British sixteen year old girl who was just taking a calculator on holiday to Austria, but nooo, they have to take her calculator apart because ONGZZ SHE MUST BE BIN LADEN IN DISGUISE.
And even THEN they bloody confiscated it. xD

It'll eventually get to the point where you have to get on the plane naked. I mean, you could kill someone with a shirt if you wanted to. :)

Unless you're a noob, I'm sure you would rather not carry a carry-on then die

It's not stupid?
Yeah, that's why a few days ago a plane on it's way to Washington was brought down for an emergancy landing flanked by two fighter planes because a 60 year old woman had hand-cream.

And now Ryan Air wants to sue the British Government because the increased security is loosing them money. Jeez.
I watched an interview with the head of Ryan Air last night and he said that the enchanced security means "The Terrorists have won". No matter how hard I try to understand that, I don't.

Dad told me yesterday about some woman who was arrested for having nail polish remover. It's idiotic.

But I don't agree that the Terrorists have 'won'. They want to cause Terror, and to be honest, I felt perfectly safe flying, even the day after the big scare.

What annoyed me was that I thought the restrictions would affect me on the way back, so I packed my DS in my luggage. Boy was I annoyed when I found I could have had it with me!

Something I heard about this morning. I flew with Monarch Airlines yesterday. :)

I bet the people on the plane only thought they were terrorists because they were from the Middle East.

It seemed a bit unfair but I can understand why people were worried. When I read the story in the paper, they were 'dressed suspiciously'. Forcing the two guys to stay behind for as long as they did was hardly fair but I guess their appearence meant that they were singled out.

I bet by "dressed suspiciously", the passengers meant they were in Middle Eastern or Muslim attire. >., I hate people like that.
I mean, when I was still at school, some refugee Muslim kids from Iraq joined our school. And this girl from my class and a load of her mates chased them down the street yelling "Terroists!" and beat them to a pulp.
Bear in mind that she did this when her own best friend is Muslim and her family hails from Bangladesh.
A bit different to the plane thing, but still shows how idiotic people have become.

I know this hasn't got a lot to do with the topic at hand, but I have to say: People are disgusting creatures. They're the evilest and lowliest form of life there is.

I'm not trying to support what the people did, but they really were suspicious. They were dressed in thick jumpers and coats. Now you may think this is normal but bare in minf that this occured in Spain where it's pretty hot. Apparently they kept checking their watches as well. I'll admit that I would have been suspicious, though I doubt I would have forced them off the plane.
