A few good DS games in my oppinion are:
New Super Mario Bros.
This pretty much explains itself. A new Mario platformer. If your fan of the NES and SNES games, I strongly recommend this game. It's a bit short though, and nearly doesn't has as much secrets as Super Mario World, but it's good nonetheless.
Mario Kart DS
Since when was Mario Kart not a good game? Okay... Double Dash was a bit disapointing I agree, but this game is HELLA lot better! If your planning on getting a Wi-Fi router to, GET THIS GAME. The best feature of this game probarly is the many diffrent cars you can get with so many diffrent "stats". So there is a bit of strategy to in the game. :) Deffinatly a must imo.
Metroid Prime Hunters DS
Another very good Wi-Fi title. I frankly don't have the game myself, but I've only heard good things about this one. A little side note: This game is more of a real shooter than a Metroid Prime game. I might get it myself to later on.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Another Mario game... If you liked the GBA version, get this one. It might be a little bit disapointing, because the GBA game is much better... But the game is good nonetheless. The Bros. Items are a very nice addition.
Advance Wars DS
I've heard good things about this. If you like Advance Wars, go ahead and buy it. I myself prefer Fire Emblem, but AW is a nice game to.
Star Fox Command
Finally a "real" Star Fox game. Nothing like Adventures and Assault, but more like the SNES and N64 games. I myself haven't bought it yet, but I've heard good things about it.
~ Future releases:
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
A Wind Waker-lookalike DS game. Has alot of new features. I especially like the new way you controll your boat.
Diddy Kong Racing DS
My favorite N64 game! Not all because of my favorite character is the main character, but because of the unique way of racing. DKR has 3 types of verchiles, the kart, the hoovercraft and the plane. Doesn't looks as much as a Mario Kart as people say.
Pokémon Diamond & Pearl
The new generation of Pokémon. That really enough to hype you up if you like the Pokémon RPG's.
There's more in the back of my head, but these are the real games I could recommend you. :)

I don't have a DS myself, so I can't tell you what I like, but maybe this'll help you decide:

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin:
Both are superb action/adventure games, with a gothic twist. You follow the plot of exploring Dracula's castle, gaining power-ups and new abilities along the way, and exploring an elaborately laid out castle with many places to explore (in Metroid fashion). The graphics are superb 2-D, with 3-D effects, vivid spells and brilliantly designed enemies, and has a great soundtrack to boot.
Trauma Center:
A surgery, simulation game that puts the touch-screen of the DS to excellent use, in having to perform operations, in a nicely designed plot. A high recommendation if you're looking for something other than the "hardcore games" listed above.

There's gonna be a Diddy Kong Racing DS!? I LOVED that game for the Nintendo 64.

Oh well. Anyway, I'm also considering FF3. Does anyone know if that game is any good?
And Advance Wars DS isn't sounding so bad. I liked the original ones on the Gameboy, so maybe this one will keep me entertained.

A few tantalising DKR DS info-bites to keep you going: eight-player single-card and multi-card WiFi play, touch-screen and microphone compatibility, some familiar faces in newly playable form, remodelled and retextured tracks, customisable vehicles, new modes, weapons and challenges, a little something called TT's Wish Races where you can create your very own tracks... and it doesn't end there.

1. Final Fantasy 3
2. Pokemon Diamond
3. Advance Wars DS
4. Metroid Prime Hunters
Those are the four games that seem to interest me the most. I really want Metroid though, cause I heard that that the multiplayer is really fun, and Final Fantasy because I made it a lifelong dream to play them all. ;)

1. Metroid Prime: Hunters.
Metroid takes full advantage of the features on the DS, providing amazing graphics and superb gameplay!
2. Lost Magic.
No matter how many people say they don't like it, this game is the greatest. It's the best game in its class on the DS.
3. Animal Crossing: Wild World.
This game, though it may sound boring, makes everyday tasks like gardening so much fun! The wifi is brilliant and everything about this game is just fantastic.
4. Mario Kart DS.
The best racing game on the system, read the reviews, it owns.
5. Tetris DS.
Even if you aren't a fan, Tetris DS is a great addition to any persons game library. This game is a classic. Them Germans really know how to make a game. (Wifi is brilliant, too.)
So that's my top 5 recommended games list.
I have played, and own, all of them. So can tell you first hand that they're great.

I have learnt: Stay away from this game if you can. It's a typical button mashing hack and slash, and even thought it has a few nice unique features, it sucks. It reeks of repitition.
So, in regard to the topic, this is not one of the best DS games.

You're both full of sh*t. That has to be the best fanboy comment of the month.

Super Mario 64 DS
Kirby Canvus Curse
Digimon World DS
FFIII DS
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Ream
Yoshi Touch & Go

As much as it hurts me to say this, I partially agree with you. No way is every single game on any console good. Actually, I think that about half of the games on every console are crap, but people only hear about the good games. But I don't agree that they're full of sh*t and that they are fanboys for saying that.

Maybe replace 'All' with 'quite a few.' :P j/k
Didn't see this before so I'll give my list, because I know it's wanted.
Sonic Rush: It's a fun and fast game, though not everyone enjoys the series and I see most things through my Sonic tinted spectacles.
Mario Kart: Don't really need to explain.
Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time: Would be worth it if you have the first game. A fun RPG, though it's not quite as good and has a lack of Fawfulness. ;)
Advance Wars: Dual Strike: Personally I'm not a huge fan of it but I can see why others would enjoy it.
I also have Metroid Prime: Hunters but I don't really rate it that highly. I know, I must be insane!

Yes, it seems Contact is a love/hate game. Some reviews have rated it to be a big let-down yet others have said the complete opposite. Which is why I'm hesitating to pick this game up, as it seems interesting at times but I hear the battle system and dungeon crawling is extremely basic.
Also to clear up the fanboy raving; generally speaking most consoles/handhelds have awful games. The truth is that roughly 15% of games for each format are truly worth considering to buy, the rest are random piles of junk that developers release to make a quick buck or two. So to tell me that all DS games are good, or even most DS games are good is an extremely narrow-minded fanboy remark which makes me mad and gives me the urge to find and kill you while you sleep.
