A simply stunning, dramatic new trailer. (I'll refrain from my own comments until everyone has seen it, but trust me, lot's of good material =)

    I can't wait for May 25th!

This year is the best year for movies imo!

Can't wait for PoTC3! Damn, I loved the first two, and they have to live up to my expectations, which are very, very, very high. It's so high, that I have room for dissapointment already, cuz I'm sure it wouldn't live up to it.

Damn, that trailer was fantastic, I watched it without blinking! Well, I can't remember blinking! Damn, so excited!

Yea, I'm a huge PoTC fan!

World's End reminds me a bit of Gaia Falls....but anyways, I can't even remember what they're supposed to be fighting against. Who was it again?

Yes, I am excited! But I probably need to watch the second one again before I see this one.

Supposedly, they filmed part of the movie at Niagara Falls, and yes, it does actually remind me of the end of Weyard, nice one SoT.

My favorite scene in the trailer is when Davey Jones and Jack are fighting, and the swords are clanging in perfect sync with the Latin opera music in the background. Brilliant. :D

Yea. For me the climax of the trailer is from ~1:42. I love the music at that scene too, anyone know exactly what genre that belongs to? It seems interesting.
            Latin Opera?

Well, I haven't seen PoTC2 so I don't know how come Geoffrey Rush isn't dead and such, but the trailer was interesting indeed.

Meh, the second one was pretty awful, if you ask me. Not awful so much as not good. This looks better, even though the music sounds like it was lifted straight out of The Lord of the Rings.

It does make the whole "Jack's dead!" seem pointless now though. As long as they don't include any pointless cannibal island sections in this film, I think it will be better than the last one.

                    Pointless?

They lost half thier crew, and had to get new people and hence we find commidor norington at rock bottom. It was how they brought him back in, and if you saw the movie you know how important he a role he played especilly near the end.

Anyways looks like I shall be hard in pants during yet another installment of POTC

FD's comment made me think of how this movie trilogy actually found its way into being able to draw a direct comparison with Lord of the Rings.

LotR would have been the last epic movie trilogy to be released, and the major difference would be that the expectations were already high for LotR, but Pirates seems to have backed its way from becoming a lighthearted comedy to an epic film series. The third movie looks like it will trump the second on the epic scale, and hopefully will close the series well.

The first PoC was good. The second one was a stretch. I'm not going to bother with the third.

I didn't quite like Pirates 2 for the main plot, but Commodore Norrington became my favorite character in the series so things became more bearable. I'm really surprised at the fast rate this movie is being released, though. HOw long was the gap between the first and second Pirates? o_O

I liked the trailer; a bit more flair of drama than the second. I couldn't tell if that was Norrington or another man in the trailer, though.

The first movie was released in 2003. Dead Man's Chest followed last year, 2006 - this third movie was supposedly shot along with the second movie.

It's actually very similar to the Matrix. A hit first movie, then two sequels that come a year apart (the second having a very cliffhanger ending too).

However, yes, the final installment of the Pirates trilogy is supposed to be magnificent. It's honestly the movie I'm looking forward to the most for 2007.

I saw the Pirates 2 last week, and it was even better than the first movie. I was hoping that they would bring Jack back into the movies with a more dramatic twist, than they should in the trailer. :P
