I like cooking myself, and intend on taking a cooking class my junior year, since I'm already signed up for a computer tech class. I like baking mainly, like cakes and pies 'n stuff. That's not to say that there'll be other guys in that class. It'll probably be mostly all girls.

But this is in the wrong forum. I'll get it moved for you.

I've been to numerous cooking classes at the Queen Victoria Market. We make all kinds of things like muffins, pasta, salads, stir fries...oh, and they brought in a pig's head once.

I do Hospitality (cooking) at school.
It's pretty fun. I don't see it as a girls subject, infact there are more guys than girls in the class!

Food technology (as it was called at my high school) is a minter. It was only like one module out of the whole general 'technolog', so we only did it for a few week, and then when you got to year 10 you could decide to continue it as "home economics"

Anyway, most people enjoyed it at our school. The lessons where you weren't act6ually cooking anything were pretty naff, just learning about nutrition and food groups etc, but cooking things like pizza/cakes/strudel was always fun, mainly because it was funny to watch all the people phail.

EDIT: Oh, and since when is 'cooking' a kinda womans thing? Good look finding a girl when you have that attitude.

If guys give you crap for going to cooking class, compare to them amount of birdhouse making skills you'll need down the road as opposed to cooking skills you'll need down the road.

If you have any intention of living alone or starting a family, you'll pretty much have to know how to cook.

Knowing how to cook can never be a bad thing. Seriously, nobody will look at you strangely, and knowing how to make some dishes will make almost all aspects of your life easier. Chicks dig men who can cook.

When I had to do food technology in year nine, it was roughly half boys, half girls. I think it's now probably more girls than boys, but there are still quite a few who do cooking. I don't think there's a problem with it.
I hated food technology. My cooking skills are not brilliant to say the least. Apparently I'd done my rice pretty well, bt that was because I'd forgotten all about it and left it.

Imo there's nothing bad about guys being in a cooking class. In fact, I'd love to have a cooking class in my school.. sadly, there's none.

i agree. my dad just got divorced. if he hadnt learned how to cook when he was my age, i would'nt be eating as well as i am now.

plus, as for the cooking being mostly a girls thing; i only said that because my mom did most of the cooking when my mom and dad still lived together, and because women traditionaly did all the cooking.
im not bein sexist or anthing.
