Since the old one got lost in the new forums, I thought it would be worth making a new topic.
I have to say, I loved the new Wembley. It's absolutely huge and there was a good atmosphere there.

I'd post here but nobody likes talking about basketball or football (NFL), so I won't post here no more.

And no one here seems interested in Cricket (which is probably the only sport I'm interested in).
We just aren't unified when it comes to sports unfortunately.

              my two fav. sports

one: NASCAR - gotta love watching a bunch of cars drive around in circles for several hours, nothing beats that.

              except perhaps my number two

two: fishing - even though i don't eat fish myself, where else can you take a several hour nap, and still call it a sport.

FA cup final today! I highly recommend watching it, even if you only have a passing interest in football. It's got two of the best teams in the world playing and even if it's only half as good as last year's final, it'll be entertaining.
EDIT: Or not. That was a rubbish match from both teams. What really makes me annoyed though is how Chelsea can do one good piece of football in 120 minutes and the commentators are like 'Well they were the better side.' I'm not saying Man United were brilliant, or even average, but on the basis of that match I'd say they deserved to win.
I can't say I'm from a neutral viewpoint though, especially since I'm wearing my United shirt right now. ;)

Chelsea won the FA cup, Whoo!

                          Eat that Manchester!

...Still, it's only really a runner-up prize since Manchester won the Premier league and Chelsea got kicked out of the Champions League by Liverpool.

It has been overtaken by those competitons in terms of importance. I guess it's a bit sad, considering the FA cup is the oldest football competiton in the world. Ah well.

Going from FA cup to champions league. I'm going to really, really, really pissed off if Milan win it. Since they weren't even allowed to participate in the first place. The Italian football association decided to finally do something about all the bribery in Italian football by punishing all the clubs. And at the last moment, when they finally could have done something, they decided to be all soft again. Shame as I see it, they could have changed Italian football for the better.

Well if it provides an exact re run of 2005's final I can live with it. The best final of anything I've ever seen (except the events of the final in 1999 :) ).

I mean the Buckaneers, from Tampa Bay. Not the basketball team called the Bucks.

Good luck with your Tampa Bay franchise. They're going down the toilet, and fast.

Lol what a shame. Not a very good game.
And of course I was all for Liverpool, when I'm British AND my cousins in England live in Liverpool.

I think most of Europe was for Europe. But that's probably because everyone hates Milan. The game sucked for a final, the goals sucked for a final (the 1-0 was... incredibly lucky) and both sides sucked overall.

And I'm a sour loser, this is the 2nd time Italians pissed me off in football, first the World Cup and now this.

                                                  ...Stupid AC.

I think Liverpool were the better side generally, but they came in as the underdogs which never helps.

And those Italians were lucky. I mean the first goal, Reina would have easily saved it if Inzagi hadn't accidentily deflected it. He didn't even realise that it was he who scored at first.

They have finals? I always thought they had a league similar to the ones with football leagues instead of a tournament system.

They have the tournament knock-out system, right? Before I start making wrong presumptions.

The stupid part is that everyone says: "No, no, you don't need protection because you're not allowed to pass forwards, only backwards. American Football you can pass forwards, then you do need protection."

I swear if I saw that again I'd be yelling out FIXED all throughout the Finals. Still, I can't help but be suspicious about Lebron making it to the finals. James is the poster boy of the NBA, the "next Jordan" some say. When MJ was still playing it only took him 3 years to make the finals for the first time in his career. Lebron took 4 years to finally make the finals. Hmmmm it's not much to look at but still, I am suspicious. ;)

It'll be interesting to see him against the Spurs. I think the Cavs can win.

So apparently, Canada is much more of a soccer nation than I expected. Our expansion MLS team, the Toronto FC is the only team in the league (other than the LA Galaxy, who for obvious reasons have sold out every game) that has sold out all of their games for the rest of the season. The crowds are insane and are the closest thing North America has to European crowds. Maybe it's the international scene, maybe it's Toronto's love of sports, but watching the games is nothing short of exciting, even for someone who tends to dislike soccer.

Oh yeah, and Canada got completely ripped off in the Gold Cup. We could've beaten the Americans, but the refs got in the way. Watch.
