I also used to be scared of fireworks. November 5th used to be the worst night of the year for me. Never been a big fan of heights, though flying in a plane doesn't bother me.

That is. Just imagine the 4th of July.
Do you tend to get a lot of storms in summer or was that just bad timing on my part?

That said, similar to Me111, I've always had a fear for severe weather. I've had nightmares of being in an open field with a tornado in the not-so-far distance, having my entire area flooded with torrential rains.
And not to mention lightning. My God, I'm so afraid of it. It's fine if it's in the distance and the thunder's barely heard, but the moment it becomes visible, close by, I get scared out of my wits, and I start shaking, and ugh...

Going back to the storms thing I remember when a bolt of lightning hit a house not that far from where I live. It shook everything and for awhile I was kinda scared. What made it worse was that I had to go to school and act normal.
Luckily in Britain we only tend to get sheet lighting and not proper bolts. When I went to the Kennedy Space Center there was a horrible storm and proper bolts of lightning were in the sky.

I don't really mind thunderstorms...I figure it's a statistical improbability that I ever get struck. But when they're close, like close enough for the house to shake when it thunders, I get nervous for a little while afterward.

I'm surprisingly not as scared of heights as I thought I'd be... I've climbed on top of mountains on an upstate school trip once, and it didn't bother me in the slightest (though one of my friends was so scared, I had to help him up by holding his hand and leading the way).
I'm a bit uneasy about small, tight spaces though. Not claustrophobic, but I get rather irritated.
#18
Posted 07 July 2007 - 01:46 AM
It's not very effective.
Small spaces don't creep me out but years ago I had a nightmare where I was trapped in a tiny space and I woke up terrified.
I also used to have nightmares of this man. Crazy huh? The reason was that he was in a programme called GamesMaster where he appeared as a giat head. This scared me when I was about 4 years old.

That is the scariest things I have ever seen.
I used to be afraid of those large characters, like the ones in DisneyWorld that walk around and sign autographs. I would literally run in the other direction if there was one at the mall. Remember, I was a kid. I'm really not scared of them anymore. In fact, I'd like to kick one in the crotch for ruining mall experiences as a child.

I guess my biggest fear is being in the dark when I know something or someone is following me (like, I can hear them) but not knowing where they are or are coming from. Actually, I guess that freaks me out more than it is fear.

IT all started when i got the first Harry Potter movie. After i got done watching it (1AM) I tried to sleep, but i got so scared that the bad guys were in the shadows that i ended up not sleeping at all.( I was a little kid, keep that in mind)
Ever since then I've been not to......happy about going into the dark.

Same here. I quite like very bad weather. Don't know why though, I just enjoy being inside the house or even outside when there is a torrential downpour and tons of lightning and thunder.
As for fears, I don't have too many. My biggest one is fear of deep water. Even in games I have to pluck the courage for minutes on end to enter deep waters.
When I was about 10 years old a wasp stun me on the back. That wasn't the first time I was stun by a wasp or bee, and I never had a fear of them up till then. After that for years I've been terrified of wasps, bees, bumblebees... When one was near me I couldn't help but run away. In the past three years or so that fear has been disappearing, and although I've still got it I can control myself. Just last night there were two wasps in my room, which I caught and let them fly out through the window. That just shows how much my fear is better.

I don't consider it a nightmare either.
And as wor wasps, I run away since they'll sting for no reason. I don't see them nearly as often as yellow jackets though, which I just shoo away or try and squash. I don't even try to shoo away bees.

Sasuke forces himself to wake up from his fearful reverie by stabbing himself, and the pain causes him to wake up, overcome the fear, and take Sakura and escape.
Basically, he overcame the fear with pain, and got himself out of the situation. How about that for a Naruto reference, eh? [/lame] :o

The idea of my own death/dying doesn't scare me, though that's probably mostly because I don't believe in a life after death, so why should I be scared? As for the actual process of dying, while I don't enjoy pain, I don't have a fear of it either like most people are. I guess I just have a high pain threshold.
I'm not trying to sound tough or anything but I can't think of much that scares me. I guess I fear for the future since I don't know what will happen to me or my friends. Fear of failure, I guess you could call it.

Well part of the reason why I'm afraid of death is just because it's unknown. What'll happen to ourselves when we die? And also, how about the people we're leaving behind, how will they all fare? These things are uncertain and unknown, and that definitely adds to the fear.

Bees. I run RUN wen I see one. They sting without warning. So scary. =[ Wasps, especially... Scaryyy...
Dolls. Porcelain dolls. Ventriloquist dolls. Wooden dolls. Fabric dolls. Voodoo dolls. Any kind of doll you can think of, they really creep me out!
Getting old and gross, I guess.
Incisions.
And a strange fear of holes with no dimension. Harry Potter 2 ending? Legend of Zelda: OoT when a boss falls apart after being defeated? It skeezes me.
Funker Vogt. XD

I am so afraid of death and the pain that death brings, especially if one of my family members were to die.
