I'll still be on on the weekends (unless some project comes up), and every now and then on the weekdays. But yeah, school sucks.
So I guess I'll see you guys around.

I remember what my first year of high school was like... it wasn't so much the workload that was difficult, it was more of the adjusting to the entirely different atmosphere and style of teaching. It's just an overall much different (and you'll find, more mature) feel to school that you haven't experienced yet.
My best advice is to really work your school and take advantage of all the opportunities; take some classes you'll be interested in, join a few clubs and teams, really make the best of it - the first two years are very important for you to get involved (once you've settled down and adjusted to it, of course).
Best of luck, hope to see you around.

Seriously though, the only year that matters is senior year.

But my favorite class so far is band (percussion, the musical insturments have a seperate class) because you're pretty much takeing a break from everything else right in the middle of the day. And none of the people in the drum line are even nerds/band geeks. But they ARE good at what they do. If you've ever seen the movie Drumline, well, those are the kinds of things we're learning now. Except without all of the fancy marching patterns. Just the cadences/music.
So far the work load is fairly light, but I'd expect it to get heavier. The funniest thing about highschool for me so far, though, is the fact that my friend and I are the only two freshmen in an intermediate algebra class. Everyone else in the class are either sophmores or juniors. But if I pass this class, and Advanced algebra next semester, I'll be taking calc and pre-calc as a sophmore. Hopefully some college out there will be impressed. <.<
So yeah, I'm pretty beat. Weight training (my PE class) really does a number on your muscles.

If you get an A in your freshman year, then a D in your senior year most likely the college wouldn't accept you. The other way? Most likely they will. But then... someone getting As in both year has a higher chance of being accepted.
But doesn't most American colleges emphasis more on the SAT/ACTs rather than your school GPA? Like, in 2008/2009 (maybe I'll take a gap year) I'll have to go to a US, British or Canadian university to complete my BSC... and even though I'll be applying as a transfer student most advisors advise me to still do the SAT/ACT to increase my chances in an American University. Canadian and British Universities accept my A Levels.

Anyway, that got me into the CC, and from there I earned my AA. And my CC has a partnership, along with many other CC in central Floridia, with UCF that if you have your AA, you have garentied acceptance. Its pretty cool. But you still have to have the grades to get into whatever program you want to be in. I have to keep a B average in my Major.
But your grades in your Senior year are very important. My bro teaches in HS, and several of his students are seniors. one of them maintianed an A average all through the first three years, and was to be accepted in UF. But he, or was it a she I don't remember, screwed around and got F's in all thier classes. And UF dropped them like a bad habit. So yea, screwing off in your last year will mess you up ggod in the college track.
And Eugine, if you get the grades and stuff, you should go to UCF. It's a great place.

In all honesty tho, I think all the courses below grade 12 level are pretty much useless. As long as you've completed/passed them, then ur okay. (uhhh- i hope... >__>)
What im actually really stressed out over is the volunteer hours requirement that i need for the faculty that i wanna get into at UBC. I need like 130 hours or something ;__;

Wierd, we have the 'middle' school thing but that's mainly to divide the school for sport and things.
So I would be a Junior...
And you would be a Sophmore?

In Victoria (My state) the system is VCE. Victorian Certificate of Education where subjects are either 1/2 (year 11) or 3/4 (year 12, I do 3/4 IT at the moment, my only 3/4 subject), and at the end of year 12 exams, you get a 'enter score' which is in a nutshell the score you need to get into a particular course, eg, say law is a 93.5 enter score.

But yeah, I got to play in the band at a football game today, which usually doesn't happen since they usually only have the upper classmen play for the first game, unless the section leaders think that a freshman in the section is good enough to play after only a few days of practice. But it was pretty awesome. Definately glad I decided to continue with band. By the way, our team won 40 - 14. :D

1. 11 and 12 are the only years that actually mean anything in Australia anyway.
2. Accounting, which I assume is pretty much business studies = Commerce.
3. Who cares about history?! Lots of **** happened, there's your history!

The only good/interesting classes for my highschool are all AP classes, or Running Start classes. If you don't know what that is, it's a program where you can take college classes and get a years worth of college credits for every year you take it. You can only take it in the last two years of highschool though, but it is nice to have two years worth of college out of the way. But I can't take any of those, AP or Running start, until I'm a Junior.
