According to various resources, Retro Studios, known for its great work with the Metroid Prime trilogy for GameCube and Wii, has decided to take a break from the Metroid franchise. What do you think they'll be doing next? Do you think they will (or should) work on another Nintendo franchise, or do their own new game? Any ideas?

I think something new and unique is in order. I can't remember the last time that something different came on the scene.

FINALLY they're going to stop with the Metroid! Sure, I love Metroid and the Prime games were some of the best games ever, but I'm sorry for the guys at Retro Studios. I truly hope they make their own game, not some other forgotten Nintendo franchise. I'm saying forgotten because Nintendo obviously didn't want to be bothered making Metroid after Gunpei Yokoi, the creator of the series, died.
Raven Blade. Do you guys know what that is? It was an old Retro game that they were making at the same time as the original Prime, but they canceled it so they could give Prime their all. That game looked absolutely amazing. To me it looked even better than Metroid Prime. I sincerely hope they're going to make that beauty now.
EDIT: I managed to find a few pics of the game:

Actually, Soul Calibur Legends looks a lot like this. Only better of course, since Raven Blade was an old game.

That looks like it could become a really great game, if they update the graphics and improve the AI. I'd actually really like to see that game come to life.

I heard a rumour that they were going to do Metroid Dread for the DS. Guess not.

They should revive another dead game, look how well Metroid has done.
Battletoads for Wii anyone?:D

I think Battletoads belongs to Rare... How about Kid Icarus? Nah, Miyamoto said he would like to make a Kid Icarus game for Wii, and I would want Retro to make a franchise of their own.
@Split: It was an old game, so of course it won't look great for today's standards. Also, those were only the first pics and the creation of Raven Blade had only just started.

Retro Studios has my thrust if they'd ever wanted to make a Donkey Kong game. Their basically much like Rare, they use more natural colors for their envoirments and I just feel a Western company would make a much better DK game than a Japanese company - even though PAON is awesome.
Kid Icarus also pops up in my mind, FPS Kid Icarus would be sweet. As for other Nintendo franchises... I've got no idea.

I believe Prime is over, but I think they're just starting. They can do what they want, but they'll be back.
Somebody else, get the 100% ending on Prime 3. I honestly am at a loss for words.
