I'm looking forward to this film. I really liked the first one, and from what I've seen, this should be just as good. Is anyone else looking forward to it?

Well I just saw this one, if anyone here has read Matthew Reilly (Sp?) I was comparing the two during this film. Overall it wasn't bad, I wasn't in the mood for an action so it suited, it was fairly slow paced though.

I saw it semi-recently. It was okay, but Nicholas Cage needs more facial expressions than 'tight-lipped stare' and 'loopy grin'.

why was there an Aztec temple all the way up in South Dakota? The Aztecs are from South America, right? It must have been a pretty long walk for them.

Good movie. Makes you wonder if there really is a "book of secrets" that explains all the Area 51 stuff, 9/11, assasinations.

The movie was just a weekend flick as I expected; not a blockbuster, but enough to keep you entertained. I found that the ending was rather similar to the first one though. Lighting torches to reveal a chamber filled with gold, anyone?

The original Aztec temples were in the mountains south of Brazil. (I'm too lazy to look up the specific countries they're in) From there to South Dakota is really far away, even in an airplane.

In any case, It did make for good theatrics and a nicely dramatic ending.

This is one of the VERY few sequels that actually turned out pretty good. I think it was just as good as the first. Definately one of the movies you should catch in the theater.

I watched this in theatre a few nights ago, it was very good. Fair amounts of comedy mixed in with cool action scenes. I want to watch it again -_-

No, they were definately central american. Native Americans built no permanent structures ofther than burial mounds. The Myans, Incas or Aztecs were all capable of building a city of that size. (A city of gold, a thousand miles or so from their homeland though, is a bit of a stretch.) Indeed many legends of a lost or secret city of gold (El Dorado, among it's many other names.) pervade myths surrounding central american civilizations.

The reason for this was that when the Spainish Conquistadores first arrived, they found gold dust in abundant quantities in the local rivers and took this as an indication of abundant gold in the soil. The fact was that nearly all rivers on Earth once had traces of gold dust before the interferance of man and that dust was all that there was to be had. Nonetheless, stories were exaggerated, or out right made up over the three-month-long trip home where they quickly whipped up the New World fervor that led to the near-immediate downfall of those same civilizations.

I wanted to go see National Treasure, but since one of my other friends that had decided to tag along had already seen it twice, we had to see Juno instead. (I liked it though. [haha, off topic, kinda])

So I'm still looking forward to seeing Natl. Treasure; I love American history, and the mystery they put into the first movie was ingenious.

But what movie can you actualy say nowadays, that doesn't stretch stuff out of proportion.
