I love skiing, I go every year. It is one of the most thrilling experiences to speed down the mountain at 40 miles per hour with snow flying in your face. If you haven't tried skiing or snowboarding yet, you're really missing out.

My family owns a small vacation cottage right near Okemo. From there, we go to all sorts of mountains: Ascutny, Mt. Snow, Jiminy Peak, Butternut...

Most often we go to Okemo (for obvious reasons). The first hour that they open the lifts is free, so we take advantage of it. Normally it's for potential ticket buyers to try the slopes, but my family just goes, skis for the hour, then leaves. :D

I love to snowboard. Unfortuanatly, Their are no mountains are anything were I live. It doesn't even snow here. So my family and I have to drive an entire day. Its definatly worth it though :D

I love Okemo, it's always fun. Especially the waffle stand at the middle of the mountain. Right now I'm skiing black diamonds and I'm lmost ready to start double black diamonds. I wanna go to the Alps so badly...

I go skiing in the French Alps each year. I tried snowboarding for a year but I got frustrated. I was good at skiiing already and learning snowboarding in some kiddy group... no thanks.

I'm good at skiing though, sometimes take alternative routes down the mountain if you know what I mean.

Lucky, I want powder too,but it's usually icy in Vermont.

That's always fun, unless it's one of those times where you end up trapped in a dead end between a bunch of trees.

Yeah, I ended at the bottom of the mountain 5 kilometers away from the piste once. Was one long frustrating walk back.

I love Snowboarding, I went to New Zealand this July to go, great fun.
I do hate Skiers though, but I hear it's mutual.

Naw, I don't hate snowboarders, they're cool and fun to hang with in the terrain parks. I don't see why you would hate skiers. Anyway, I'm leaving for skiing in a week or so, I can't wait!

If you ask me, Skiing sounds more difficult.

But Skiing looks easy as with those two poles.

                        ihk, I dislike Skiiers because
-There's more Skiiers then Boarders which makes it seem as if there are way too many Skiiers
-Skiiers are wayyyyy to agile which throws a Boarder off when we get cut of
-Little Kids who Ski need to learn basic manners, if I crash into you because you cut in front of me, I'm not saying sorry.

I hate boarders, they're all skaterish pricks who think they're cool.
They're annoying as **** in the lifts.

But skiers piss the **** out of me too, I guess I just like the speed and agility of skis more then the trick potential with snowboards.

There's more skiers because skiing's easier. And there's nothing wrong with being agile.

I ski, but I want to try snowboarding too.

And ihk, you should probably add "Both" as an option to the poll.

Agreed there's nothing wrong with being agile, for that reason I prefer Rollarblading to Skateboarding, but it's when you get inconsiderate skiers, who, because of their agileness decide to obstruct Snowboarders, you get accidents. All my 'accidents' have invovled skiers, and aside from my first time boarding, none of them have been my fault. It's been overconfident kids, or underskilled adult skiers that throw me off.

Sorry for the bump, but did anyone catch the Winter X Games? They were freaking awesome. The snowboard half pipe competition was probably the coolest, and the Japanese riders seemed to do amazing. The snowmobile freestyle jumping was cool too.
