I have a few nicknames, the one that most people tend to use, including my close friends, (and that I find eternally amusing): Raid. :P
I've also been called Elmo, Elmer Fudd, Elmer's glue (all puns of my last name), and for a while I was called Malik because that was what my mother was going to name me when I was born.
So, what are some nicknames that ya'll have?

Although this does bring me one step closer to being Chuck Norris. A small step though. Thus far I have failed to perform a spatial-rending round-house kick, sucessfully order a Big Mac at Burger King, or slam a revolving door...

I always mentally pronounced your name Raid, and didn't even realise it's Riad. How exactly is that pronounced? I guess your friends have a good reason for calling your Raid.
Anyway, when I was young I had the nicknames bluejean, bertie and engine (weird, and never liked them)
In secondary school, my nicknames were my surname (everyone tells me my first name sucks ;_:P and winterfresh (anyone who has my Facebook will realise why.)

I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

And of course, plenty of people find it so difficult that I just let them call me "Raid". My friend Zach (who called me the "normal" way) used to call me Raid just for fun though (a few references here and there to the bug spray), especially when we used to play Ultimate Frisbee together, and that's when it started to catch on.
Eugine, I'm so certain and glad that you're name isn't as unusual as mine. :P

Haha, that's the way I've always pronounced it in my thoughts. Ree-add sounds better, now that I think about it. Riad's a cool name, though.

I didn't notice the joke for an entire year. Probably because I usually am late to class.

I've also always pronounced your name that way. And Rye-add sounds better than Ree-add to me. Rye-add is awesome.
Anyhow, my nicknames are all different ways of saying Steven. Some friends call me simply by my name, others call me Steva(a Serbian nickname for Steven). Then there are the more English than Serbian nicknames given to me by my friends because I'm part English: Steve(sounds like "cleave") and Stevee(like "Heavy").

Yeah, almost all of my friends have nick's. One of my friend's is called Branko and we call him Bane, which is a very common nickname in Serbia. We refer to another of my friend's as Taki, though that has nothing to do with Soul Calibur. None of them even know what SC is.

The only names I ever get called are my last name (Facebook people) and Benny. Benny got started from my sister watching 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' and it caught on. It's not bad anymore, and it's a great way to differeniate people who know me to people who know me better. I only get called my last name at school though, so I rarely get called my first name anymore anywhere, except maybe at work.

I didn't really think it was that hard to learn. On the other hand, I had the experience of playing the trumpet, clarinet, and a little bit of alto saxophone before I started learning the bassoon, and then I had lessons as well.
Clarinet was the hardest for me. I don't know why.

It had to have been the oboe or clarinet. Flutes play really high.
That figures that french horn would be the hardest. I only know of a few people who play it right and I was in a huge high school.
