I looked through this forum and couldn't find anything like it. There was a topic asking if we play it, but that was from 2005. ^_^

What is your favorite video game music?

Halo has some epic music, kicking in at just the right time. The main theme is awesome, and used throughout, and never gets boring.

I have my favorites from Zelda, Golden Sun, and various Final Fantasy tracks (Nobuo Uematsu is genius!), but I'm going to add the orchestral tracks from Super Mario Galaxy here. The overworld theme is so beautiful and well-done it's almost chilling. Not to mention the dramatic music (complete with chorus) when

The music in SMG's pretty damn good. It can be surprisingly epic for a happy-go-lucky Mario game.

Halo's music is great. This one in particular from Halo 2 is one of my favorites:

BioShock probably has the best use of licensed music (besides Guitar Hero?) but even besides the licensed, the use of it's music is subtle and it just builds on an already excellent mood and atmosphere that you just don't get from video games.

I love the Halo main theme most. It's always there, you know when it's going to come up- in an action sequence, and it always kicks in at the right time. The drums give it a tribal feel, but it's nothing short of epic. The vocals at the start to kick it off, the piano chords following it. Nothing beats it in VGM, seriously.

Paper Mario: TTYD. Some of my favourite music in a game ever. Especially the boss battles.

Also my favourite RPG. Right up there with Oblivion.

"Simple and Clean"- Utada Hikaru (Kingdom Hearts anyone?)

Personally, I like the Japanese version better, called "Hikari", but both are pretty good.

I know I mentioned that song before in a different topic, but it is a very good song.

I also like the title music to Megaman Battle Network. The first game. That and any of the Ocarina songs for OoT. And the FE theme music.

This site is win for Megaman music.

I thought the music in Soul Calibur 3 was amazing, if anyone has played that game. It was nicely composed with fast paced music for bright open stages, and dark, creepy music for spooky stages.
